i came here (for the first time in literal YEARS) to yell about endgame but i’m so tired
There’s a line where the sky meets the sea and it calls me. But no one knows, how far it goes. All the time wondering where I need to be is behind me. I’m on my own, to worlds unknown.
Ok, but lets talk about the animation and emotion in this scene. Most people gloss this bit over, but this is one of the best moments in the movie.
In the first GIF, Moana’s focus is totally on the mission ahead, not even looking up until in the second gif, when you can see the shock and surprise and even fear on her face when she sees Sina in the doorway.
The fourth GIF is where that fear is truly pronounced, and Moana is mentally preparing to defend what she has to do with shaky confidence. You can see the way her eyebrows knit as she swallows her fear and her mouth goes in a thin line when Sina kneels next to her.
But then we see Sina help her pack supplies, and you notice her stress and worry over her daughter’s wellbeing. She knows what Moana has to do, but she doesn’t want her get hurt, and you can see her bittersweet realization of this in the sixth GIF. (You can see her eyes get glassy with tears and the little curve of her eyebrows in hope.)
Moana’s realization that her mother isn’t holding her back is nearly palpable in the seventh GIF, where you see her eyes go glossy with tears and the silent ‘thank you’ she sends.
The hug. THE HUG oh my goodness it’s so strong. Sina and Moana don’t just hug and then let go, their hands follow the length of their arms to the others’ hands. They don’t want to let go, they both want to stay together, but both know they can’t.
The last two GIFs are a special shout out to the animators. Look at how Moana hurriedly slings a heavy bag over her shoulders, the way her shoulders adjust to the weight. The way her hair waves, her little pause as she hits the ground before running off (it’s subtle, but it’s there). Things you’d hardly notice at first glance, but add to the realism of this movie.
Props to you, Disney animators, for such a wonderful and emotional scene.
You live in an alternate world where twins—fraternal and identical—can feel each other’s physical pain. You are an only child with no siblings. One day, suddenly, you feel a burning pain in your chest.
It’s called heartburn, learn to eat slower you hooligans

Uranus rotation has me laughing for like 2 mins now…
I’m so glad Venus’ rotation is retrograde, the accuracy makes me happy <3
So change the world…
The Homecoming Job
Nothing’s changed. Oh, yes it has, sir. Everything’s changed. Men fall from the sky, the gods hurl thunderbolts, innocents die. That’s how it starts, sir.

something just occurred to me about the 5-season structure of Leverage.
at the end of each season, one member of the team betrays the rest of the crew; or appears to, from the audience’s perspective, even if it turns out all right; or actually does betray the crew’s trust, but for “good” reasons.
In season 5, Hardison lies to the rest of the crew for the better part of a year about why they came to Portland, because Nate asks him to.
In season 4, Nate goes against the crew’s wishes and sets himself up to be able to kill his enemies. (And although he doesn’t pull the trigger, I’ve always thought it fair to say that he killed them just the same.)
In season 3, Eliot reveals that he used to work for Damien Moreau and has been keeping his past a secret from them for three years.
In season 2, Tara goes behind the crew’s back to set up a meeting with the baddie (which turns out to be a meeting for Sophie, so she can save them).
And in season 1, Sophie lies to the crew about why she wants to steal the David and tries to manipulate them.
…which means… there’s only one member of the team who never lied, stepped over the line, withheld information, went behind the crew’s back, or manipulated anyone.
It’s Parker. Parker is the most honest, true, and loyal member of team Leverage.
I am cry.
Imagine if a trending hashtag in Gotham is #ImTellingBatman for all the times people see Robins doing stupid shit like playing rooftop tag or stopping to pet the police dogs
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
SORRY?? SORRY???? This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen Jesus Christ everyone look at this
au where fandom doesn’t make me dislike something i previously enjoyed
There’s a difference between a female character who exists in a story and has a romantic relationship with a male character versus a female character who exists in a story to have a romantic relationship with a male character
they call me cryptid mr. no queue… i appear at random times of the day, with no apparent pattern in my posts
*hits the blunt* yugioh was propaganda because the season they opened the anime with in the US started by making you pity yugi for losing his exodia cards in like, the second episode i think it was. basically this fuck has a huge unfair advantage over everyone else in the world and is planning to use it to win a cash tournament. but you’re supposed to feel bad for him when he loses that advantage and ends up on an even playing field because the cards are “his property”. exodia is capital and yugi moto is the bourgeoisie
and kids are meant to think “wow id hate it if i had exodia and i lost it. i could have exodia someday so for some reason i empathize with that situation” it’s literally capital
Luke ur literally misreading this entire fucking thing cuz kaiba is literally a fucking CEO and he’s the villain. this show is anticapitalist…yugi losing the exodia cards is actually about how the proletariat loses the true value of their labor under the surplus theory of value
ok listen up though yugi literally gets possessed by the spirit of a pharaoh and inherited the exodia cards from his grandfather they are clearly a metaphor for the divine right of kings under feudalism and weevil is the bourgeois revolutionaries overthrowing feudalism. only joey wheeler, the true hero of the proletariat, can
one of my favorite tidbits about speedrunning that comes up every time the games done quick marathons come around is how Wind Waker speedruns are about five hours long because of the giant wall in Hyrule that actually forces the runner to play the game because they’ve been throwing shit at this wall for over a decade and still can’t figure out a way past it. the wall in hyrule is entirely unglitchable and the only way past it is to play the game properly. the speedrun would be like one hour if they could get past this wall but nope, it’s five hours. fuck the wall.
and the comedy of this situation is exponentially amplified the more you know about skips and glitches in speedruns in general
as examples of how broken WW is elsewhere, you can clip through walls and go out of bounds to skip entire dungeon sequences pretty much anywhere with a ledge, use the Wind Waker to enter a state where you ignore physics and swim at 5000 miles an hour, and even fly infinitely into the sky after dying like some kind of helium zombie. do you know how many games could be broken wide open by an infinite height trick? TTYD would shave off 3 or 4 hours.
but this fucking barrier around Hyrule Castle, against all odds, is just completely insurmountable with any of this. Ganondorf is literally the most successful and powerful villain in gaming history and this Super Extendo Fuck You Shield™ is a shining testament to it
This is the kind of information I want on my dash
Okay but do you have any idea just how big the Super Extendo Fuck You Shield™ actually is? Try approximately four times the height of the castle itself.
And not only that, but even if you get over the invisible wall, there’s another barrier that causes damage and knockback. So even if you managed to get over the invisible wall part of the Nintendo Containment System™, there’s still an additional, cylinder-shaped barrier that will do damage to you and knock you back out, even if you try to get in from the top or bottom. That castle has more security measures than Fort fucking Knox and it’s all to give a middle finger to speedrunners wanting to finish the game in an hour. It’s fucking wild.

shoplifting tip

fun fact
im weirdly knowlagable in the history of soda i dont even drink soda why do i know so much about it
coke and pepsi taste different because coke was invent before refrigeration so it was designed to be drunk warm, while pepsi was designed after refrigeration was invented so it was designed to be drunk cold. as a result the tastes are different but if you drink pepsi cold and coke warm theyll taste the same.
Why the fuck do you know this
i honestly have no idea
coke’s recipe was originally green but the designers made it brown so it looked more like tea
Had they never seen green tea?
i dont even know if green tea was invented in 1886 but they wanted to make the public more open to eating the fizzy drink
Green tea was invented in the 13th century and made up 22% of the tea thrown off the ship in the Boston Tea Party
alan i know about soda not green tea
i will trade u information abt bees and carrier pigeons for information abt the history of soda
no one knows where the origin of the name ‘7up’ started but it did have a mood stabilizer in the original recipe found in present day anti-depressants
i want facts about bees and carrier pigeons now
Carrier pigeons come from a species of Wild Rock pigeon, and their flights could be as long as 1800 km and were used as early as 3000 years ago.
You know in old cartoons where a character throws a beehive at someone, and you think ‘lol, but that wouldn’t work in real life’. Turns out it would, and did. People used to lob beehives at the approximate location of the enemy forces to expose them.
this is amazing thank you
