The only reason Katniss regrets that night 4 months ago is because of everything that came after. The pain she caused him, when he realized it wasn’t real, just like everything else about their relationship. The way he pretended she didn’t exist for months after the second victory tour. But specifically this part, where she’s being forced back into a death arena while four months pregnant. It would make her inevitable death so much easier to accept if that night had never happened.

Peeta isn’t supposed to know. So why is he telling Caesar, and all of Panem, on national television?

OR: the fic where Everlark aren’t together yet, Katniss is pregnant during the Quarter Quell, Peeta isn’t supposed to know but then figures it out, Peeta never gets taken by the Capital and hijacked, and they try to live their “happily ever after”. Catching Fire -> Epilogue.

Got stood up by the guy I’ve been taking to for almost four weeks. Thought things were going really well, given we made plans for a date. It appears he’s ghosting me.

Hey so update on this for anyone curious. The guy reached out a couple days later. He apologized, told me he was scared & basically was afraid I was too good for him, yadda yadda. After some more talk I decided to give him a second chance.

We just had a Minecraft “date”. It was pretty tame but it was fun. And he is adorable.

UPDATE. WE JUST HAD A REAL DATE. Skdjdhdisjsnanajddididjdnfndndndjdkso we went to Taco Bell and then bowling (he beat me, not shocking at all) and then we got ice cream and sat in my car and just talked for like 30 minutes and it was GREAT. I HAD SO MUCH FUN. I gave him my number. I have not stoped giggling/smiling since. AHHHHHHHH

We’re dating now (for several weeks). Also he loves me. He got me flowers yesterday. And according to my family I’ve been “glowing” the past few weeks. He is so hot and cute and such a gentleman and such a massive goofball and gets along with my family really well and his family is also pretty cool. Honestly not sure how I managed to find him. But he’s moving in two weeks, which sucks ass. But I’m pretty certain it’s going to be ok. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and love stronger and all that mushy gushy shit. Anyway. In short: I’m really happy and life has been pretty awesome lately :)

Update #4

Oh my god long distance SUCKS. I visited him two weeks after he moved out there & I got to see the Rocky mountains for the first time (talk about beautiful). This has been like the longest three weeks of my life. I’m flying out tomorrow to visit him again for Valentines (so fucking excited I’ve missed him so much omg). Things are pretty serious ya’ll 😅. Like I’m already thinking in a year from now & we’re already talking about “when we move in together” wnwosdornensnakskxnd trying to pace myself bc we’ve been kind of moving at the speed of light bc it just feels so right but also OhMyGod am I seriously considering moving across the country (1000 miles) for a guy I met three months ago and leave my entire life & family behind? The fact that I’m thinking Yes Yes, That Exactly is crazy. & my family & friends are basically all telling me to go for it. Gotta finish this school year but Still. Also I won’t see him again for 5 weeks after this and I’m already upset about it. I just want my teddy bear in my arms At All Times UGH.

Anyways sorry for being sappy. I’ve been pretty MIA the past couple months & writing or drawing just hasn’t felt like something I want to do. I’m more focused on life rn. And things are going great, so :)

Update #5

Omg so much has happened.

So he moved back to where I live in March! We’ve basically been living together for like the past 3ish months at my grandparents. Money has been tight as he’s tried to get back into his union job, but we’ve been doing good. A week ago we got our own apartment! Moving in and getting furniture has been expensive AF and I’ve spent an absurd amount of money the past several months but I’m HAPPY! He is so very great. Tomorrow will be our 6 month anniversary :)

I’ve been pretty MIA lately. Just haven’t been as online as usual. Fandom stuff hasn’t really been interesting to me lately. Life has been so fun/busy that I really haven’t gotten the urge to be super creative or anything lately. I did start some crochet projects tho! And I have books I want to read this summer now that I have time. I’m still lurking, just mostly doing other things like touching grass and a very hot man.

Update #6 (if anyone cares lol)

Sooo. Me and super hot guy are still going strong. Buuut. Work for him has been mega slow lately (like, he hasn’t had work in weeks). Guy in charge of getting work for the union hasn’t been doing great at his job & I guess a lot of people in the union are out of work atm. Money has been tight-tight-tight as of late.

Somewhat luckily, my boyfriend’s friend was able to get him a job several states away (12 hour drive). Something that’s kind of been in the works for weeks now but I didn’t think would actually end up happening. He got the call yesterday. He packed some bags and left this morning. He hasn’t moved away, just on a work trip. And he’ll be back in 3 or 4 weeks for his apprenticeship classes. He’s going to be making really good money out there (like, our rents worth of money every week), and he’s working again so he’s going to feel a lot better mentally, which is awesome and great. But I also miss him so much already and the guys only been gone for like 4 hours. I cried yesterday like he’d been drafted and sent off to war 😅 (I’m so dramatic and way more emotional than I thought I’d be). Now it’s just me and our dog in our apartment that now feels super empty even though it’s not.

I’m not sure what happened to the version of me that was good at being an individual. I’m starting to think maybe I never was and just convinced myself I preferred being alone. And maybe that’s why I was so depressed in college, lol. But my family is keeping tabs on me and I’m going to be fine. Just feels really weird and I’m not sure what to do with myself right now. It’s kind of silly because we’ve already done this before (and it’s really different considering he’s just on a trip. Trying to tell myself he’s on vacay where he’s going to make lots of money) so it shouldn’t be that hard. I’m just a little bit in love with the guy (more like, an absurd amount in love).

My hot take RE: The Hunger Games is that Beetee doesnt get nearly enough shit.

I include myself in this. Post Mockingjay I was like, the #1 Gale Hater for what happened to Prim but I rarely implicated Beetee in my hatred (mostly because I didnt like Gale prior to this but did like Beetee a lot and partly because I started to picture Jeffrey Wright when thinking of Beetee and I like Jeffrey Wright).

But like, Gale didn't really have the foresight to see how the weapons and traps he was designing could be used against them, or the true devastation they could cause. He was angry, basically little more than a kid himself. He trusted the adults around him to aim his weapons at their enemy, not to make more sacrifices in the name of peace.

Which brings me to Beetee, who consistently uses children as pawns in his plans for rebellion, regardless of the consequences for those children.

Children who want to rebel, who are willing to give their lives and shed blood for the name of the cause but cant fully understand the full scope of what theyre being pulled into, because they dont know the whole picture. They're never told, never fully brought into the loop.

When Haymitch wants to help, says he wants to "paint his poster" or whatever, he cannot fully conceive of the consequences of his actions. He thinks it's his life they'll come after and since he's a dead man anyways he might as well go out making a statement. He seems to believe that his death would be the end of any repercussions. Unlikely, but he's not thinking beyond the games here. Why would he?

Beetee should be. Beetee has seen these consequences play out again and again, he understands exactly the kind of horror Haymitch is signing up for. He uses him anyways.

Ampert too. Even his own son, whose death is already being set up as his punishment, he still takes this as an opportunity to use him one last time.

And yeah, Ampert was going to die anyway. But he didnt have to die like that.

Beetee is the smartest guy in Panem. He knows the consequences, knows what will happen to these kids, the likely horrors they're inviting by engaging in this rebellion. He's done the math and he considers their sacrifice worth the cost.

At the end of Mockingjay, Katniss thinks there is something significantly wrong with a creature that sacrifices its children's lives to settles its differences. This is when she decides to kill Coin, I believe, because she realizes she's not fundamentally different from Snow.

Ultimately I dont believe Beetee is the same as Coin at all, but this quote does still apply to him. It applies to Plutarch, too.

The never ending cycle of suddenly getting the urge/inspiration to draw, digging out your iPad, finding it dead and plugging it in, and then waiting for it charge, only for that desire to be gone by the time said iPad & pencil is finally ready to go.

Like seriously, why is that thing always dead? I’m only ever on it to draw, otherwise it’s closed. If it’s off & all the apps are closed it shouldn’t be dead within 5 hours of me closing it.

Someone needs to write a story where there’s three characters who met online & quickly became friends. They’re friends for years and then they finally decide to all meet up.

The issue is, apparently one is a werewolf, and one is a vampire. They’re sworn enemies. Other problem? The third one is a human. Humans don’t know about the supernatural. So now these two beings have to figure out how to be “friends” when their inherent instincts tell them to hate each other, and try to be all nonchalant about it because the human cannot know. And somewhere along the way maybe they all fall in love. But it’s a goofy supernatural friends-to-frenemies-to-lovers situation with a completely oblivious fun loving human who’s unknowingly along for the ride.

I desperately want a game that’s got the building mechanics & graphics/realism of Sons of the Forrest, with the plot/setting/premise of The Long Dark. But I also want to slowly be able to tame wolves/wild dogs and then train them to be sled dogs so you can travel faster (like the game the Red Lantern). I know dog sledding (or at least racing) is kind of a frowned upon practice now, but I just. It fascinates me.

I just yearn to explore the Alaskan/Canadian wilderness and see the beauty of the world and live off the land, with some animal companions. None of which I could do in real life, bc I don’t have the money, knowledge, physical strength, or mental fortitude to do so. And Minecraft and those games alone just don’t quite scratch the itch (also Sons of the Forrest is just too scary for me).
