The way it works is completely irrelevant to how you identify and appear, and entirely relevant to how bigoted people and systems see you. See: they don't care to know you. They just don't like you, find you uncomfortable, think you're to blame for something they don't like, and their profiling is bigotry.

Bigotry does not apply to identities, it is part of society. You can't identify out of it, you can maybe sneak past *some* bigots, but the issue fundamentally lies with bigots. They don't care they're harassing the wrong people, they just see you as a freak or faggot and go for the throat. A transmisogynyst bigot doesn't care if they are going after a butch woman, a trans man, or a trans woman. They just see a creep who *isn't woman enough to them*. Who gets affected by transandrophobia or transmisogyny is up to bigots and they are more than happy to dish it out to anyone who doesn't fit their specific tastes.
