It's Christmas Eve and Leon gets called into New York to investigate the rumors of a Bio-Weapons lab hidden somewhere in the depths of the city. While there, he visits the Police Station first to gather some information and runs into Angela Miller. Leon hasn't seen her since the incident at the airport with her brother a few years ago, and while she's happy to see him, she looks rather ill.
Since she works at the department, she offers to get Leon the information he needs and heads into the backroom to get it while Leon waits…and waits..and waits.
Worried, he chews his bottom lip before he finally gets up to check up on Angela, only to abruptly freeze when everyone around him just starts screaming. One by one, the people around him burst into flames, their bodies igniting so fast and violently that they can do nothing but flail in agony.
Thinking quickly, Leon shoots one of the emergency sprinklers on the ceiling and sends a torrent of water onto the ignited humans below. Unfortunately everyone around him is now is either curled up on the floor dead, or barely alive, their skin blackened and red from severe burns. Even with the fire alarm screeching, Leon is able to hear more screams echo from the back of the station and runs off immediately to investigate, still worried about Angela.
As he delves deeper into the building, he comes across more burnt corpses, but even more alarming is the giant rat he encounters. The rodent writhes on the floor as it screeches in pain, it's body expanding and mutating, transforming into a violent monster. Even after killing it, Leon finds himself encountering more of it's ilk, and after killing nearly a dozen of these things, he's finally able to find Angela alone in the evidence room.
He's relieved when he sees that she's fine, but when he calls out to her, he suddenly finds himself doubled over in pain. His body feels like it's on fire, and for a moment he fears he might fall to the same fate as the burnt corpses around them.
"You're the only one who seems to be fine.." Angela says ominously, turning to look at him with bright emerald green eyes."…That can only mean you must be awakening soon too."
Leon can only grit his teeth as the strange burning sensation gets stronger "Angela..? W-what the hell are you talking about?" he finally asks between pained breathes.
At the sound of her name, the vibrant green in Angela's eyes fades, and for a moment she looks utterly confused. "Angela…? I'm not…I'm-!" She shakes her head, as if trying to fight something off before she suddenly stills. "No…no, I am..Eve."
The green in her eyes takes over once more and her body begins to rapidly mutate almost in a similar way to the rats he killed earlier. Soon Angela is twisted into a more monstrous shape, and just when Leon thinks this may be some kind of new virus, she suddenly lifts her giant hand and fires a literal laser from her palm.
Leon barely manages to dodge it and soon finds himself fighting against his former friend, and as the battle drags on, things just get even stranger. When his arm gets nicked by one of Angela's energy beams, his body flares up again before the area around his wound starts glowing, the burnt flesh healing like magic before his eyes.
"Can you hear it?" Angela asks him as he looks down at his healed arm in utter shock. "Listen..your cells are trying to communicate, they're calling out…"
As if responding to her voice, the heat once more ignites throughout his body and Angela uses his moment of pain to escape.
It's only been three hours since Leon's arrived to New York, and things have already spiraled completely out of his control. Little does he know that by the end of Christmas he's going to learn more about his mother and himself than he ever could have ever imagined.

In the real world, their co workers and students must keep watch over the platform where they are trapped in. Will they get out alive? or Will they die trying?

It lets people access scientific articles for free. This is dangerous. It helps the free flow of knowledge and reduces the competitive edge of all the people who worked really hard to have been born into a wealth.
Like, it’s literally a website where you can type in the DOI of an article and read it, without ever having to pay the publisher who exploited the author.
So, again, do not, under any circumstance, use Sci-Hub. I mean, can you imagine a world where knowledge is free and easily accessible to everyone? Even, y'know, poor people?
Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? Here is the link just so you make sure that you never accidentally stumble across this horrible, unethical website.
Oh, and while we’re talking about books, if you’ve managed to stay clear from Libgen, definitely don’t go to zlibrary, where you can also find a lot of textbooks, but unfortunately they’re completely free.
Another inside tip from academia: Those papers in really expensive journals that are effectively inaccessible to anyone not in a university network? Depending on the discipline it’s very likely that same paper is on a “preprint” server somewhere, with no access restrictions.
Like if you want to read basically any physics, math, or CS paper, arXiv.org will have you covered, because everyone uploads their papers there before submitting to a journal (and generally updates it after peer review). I know all of my papers are on there. This is such common practice that journals have it baked into their licensing agreements that authors retain the right to upload their work to these places.
So the next time you get hit with that paywall, you may not even need sci-hub, just click the arxiv link on google scholar instead.
if for some reason none of this works, the old “send a email nicely asking for the paper to the author” is always a good trick. remember most scientists hate the commercialisation of scientific knowledge
Many authors of papers are on ResearchGate! You can ask for papers there, if they don’t just post a copy to download. If they’re associated with a college, you can usually find their email addresses in the department directory, also.
