i highly recommend doing no-sketch paint studies using movie stills it actually teaches you so much without even realizing. and if youre lazy just remember the amount of AI slop out there it does wonders for me
tips: start with the background, set the tone. then start with big strokes. details are for later, you need the shapes first to see what youre even doing

One thing that happens when I read books like this, but reading Medical Apartheid in particular, is how often I'll read some sadistic act of human experimentation and it just straight up sounds like the people doing it are Demonic supervillains out of books. Like you might read it and think it's hamfisted if a villain were to say something like "yes, we are now confident we've shortened their lives".
And yet, they're not. They were regular ass people believing and acting in ways that it was normalized to do and be. "It was in the past, get over it" y'all haven't even acknowledged the scope of the evil, of what has even occurred, let alone telling us to get over it. That's not how healing works 😭

This was such a fun study to paint! I really enjoyed the process, but I would like to either practice drawing the tall blades of grass more or create a brush for it to help speed things along. Daily drawing 2468.

"We're together in every universe" this "we'll always find eachother" that. What about this is the only universe that we're together in. What about there is no other way this could have worked. What about this is the only place that we have found each other. And goddamn it if we aren't going to make the most of it.
I remember being in the car with my papa and I heard an ad on the radio that was like:
“Martha’s job is to watch a bunch of immature children constantly screaming at each other.
“So when she comes home, she likes to relax by turning on the tv and watch a bunch of immature adult women constantly screaming at each other.
“The difference is that the adults are not Martha’s problem.”
Which is actually a pretty accurate example of why it’s normal and ok to enjoy something in fiction that may be problematic or unrealistic irl.
i feel this is an important lesson for anyone in any sort of art field
