“Alright then,’ Emil looks over the group, ‘let us begin by saying the pledge; I am a valid human, not a mindless wrecking machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself.”
Bruce mumbles under his breath, “He’s running a cult.”
“Shh!” Jen silences her cousin with one arm raised proudly.
“I am proud to announce that it has been 3 weeks since my last act of violence, which was wrecking the city, or may I be chopped up and made into soup,” Emil announces proudly.
Samuel stands to applaud, “Well done!”
“You’re an inspiration to all of us!” Leonard claps.
Emil takes a bow and begins to pace, “Today’s challenge was to bring a friend. Do you all have your friends?”
“I seem to have uh,’ Leonard sniffles through a whisper, lifting a photo of Betty Ross , ‘Um, I would seem to have misplaced my hulk.”
“She left you too?!” Bruce questions, mortified.
“That’s alright!” Emil gestures, “You can borrow one of mine! Who is next?” Blonsky asks the audience of four.
“Oh!” Jennifer jumps from her seat, “Pick me! Pick me!”
“Yes! The little cheerleader up front!”
“Woohoo!” Jennifer stands and pirouettes around herself, “Hi, I’m Jen.”
“Hello Jen,” Blonsky leads the group to repeat in unison.
“And uh, well,’ she shifts in her stance, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever actually wrecked a city.”
There’s silence in the room.
“Good on you mate!” Blonsky final cheers as the group behind him clap.
