PSA do not I repeat DO NOT hate on people who use AI for therapy or similar. Hate on AI itself or on those who use it for content generation or for hundreds of other things but do not hate on people who use it for emotional support or just to talk to. Why because for people who are using that way it is essentially a friend who is always ready to talk to you never judges you and supports you no matter what. Look me in the eye and tell me that in your darkest hours on those days when you feel the worst you wouldn’t have crawled to a friend like that and then remember that AI is DESIGNED TO BE ADDICTIVE. For those that find themselves in that pit and use AI as a way out that is on the same level as drugs or alcoholism and it can be so hard to crawl out of that pit so please for the love of god if you see people in this horrible terrible place DO NOT ALIENATE THEM. It will only push them further down instead make yourself that friend who they can talk to and supports them offer them a hand out don’t shove them in.

I honestly wonder how the public opinion on AI would have been different if these huge companies had just taken it a little slower. I think that the two big things are

1. The whole environment deal

2. “Ai art”

I honestly think that had they just waited on generated images they could have gotten a lot less hate. Without the advent of AI art I think Ai would have actually become liked much more universally going up from kids and down from employers. Over the it would have just become a staple of life then when images came around there wouldn’t be as much hatred because AI was just a part of life and it would exist in the same state that the internet does where there are many problems and it’s pretty evil but how would you even go about not using it and the worst parts are avoidable.

Instead we live in a dystopian society where AI has taken over the world in all but name
