to me lady macbeth is just macbeth. and what you call macbeth? why, i know him as "guy macbeth"
love it when shakespeare's mysterious and dodgy. something is rotten in the state of denmark. something wicked this way comes. do you think he just didn't wanna conjure up a word for it
Shakespeare character: the vibes are rancid
Back when the RSC were doing boat!Hamlet (iykyk) they were also doing Edward II which I didn't get to see, but I did pick up a flyer for it because obviously I did.
I can't remember exactly how I got talking about it with my mum, but I was talking about how gay the promo photo for the production is and my mum goes, "Well, not necessarily. They could be fighting."
And I was like, "Mum, you would have to be a very special kind of willfully ignorant to look at this and think they're fighting."

"Did my heart love 'til now? Forswear its sight. For I never saw true beauty 'til this night." Romeo + Juliet (1996) dir. Baz Luhrmann
hamlet’s “i did love you once” and ophelia’s “indeed, my lord, you did make me believe so” is such an underrated gut punch. it’s betrayal it’s heartbreak it’s vulnerability it’s so over. truly no one is doing it like shakespeare
Shakespeare Fun Fact
[image description: a statue of shakespeare with the text, "William Shakespeare was born on April 23 and also died on April 23, but in those few hours he accomplished so much." there are watermarks with the copyright year (2019) and page name "Too True Fun Facts" as well as with the image source, which is pixabay.com. end image description.]

Michelle Pfeiffer as Titania, Queen of the Fairies in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1999) dir. Michael Hoffman
“the funeral baked meats did coldly furnish forth the marriage tables” is such a zinger even 400 years later. hamlet truly would have killed it on twitter
