Fortune's Weave Character Teaser: Troy
The Brides of the Pale Raven aren’t the only ones who’re packing.
Last night, we were formally introduced to Troy, another member of Eshmel’s crew, the “Saviors Army”. She’s actually from Saramis, and knew Theodora, who called her “granny” or “hag” depending on the translator. Someone who’s known multiple of Saramis’s kings. Yet interestingly, she plays a major part in Eshmel's story, not Theodora's. I wouldn’t be surprised if she made some cameo appearances in Theodora’s route a couple times, and played a role in her story after joining Eshmel’s army.
In her cutscene clip, Troy and Hong Hua seem to be part of the same organization, Joka. Troy is said to be second only to Xenon in status. Also, it looks like Eshmel is genetically a clone of Troy, since she says the avatar looks just like her when she was young.
So… Joka seems to be an organization that serves Sothis directly, and has access to advanced technology.
We’ve seen another organization that appears both holy in nature, while having access to advanced technology: the Brides of the Pale Raven. That’s Anatolia’s faction. You remember those “friends of the bride” Dietrich fought? Same banner, baby. Now, it’s kinda hinted that this is a name given to them by the public, not their real name. In Anatolia’s jp website bio, its stated people have taken to calling her “the bride” because of her white outfit. So perhaps they and Joka are the same organization, and Anatolia let the name stick because Joka’s a secret organization. Or perhaps they’re different organizations with access to Agarthan technology.
Either way, this Joka organization seems like a major part of Eshmel’s storyline.
The gameplay clip reveals a new class for the game, the War Monk. Its specialties are gauntlets, faith, and infantry. It can likely wield axes as well, but that’s unconfirmed.
We also see that Troy has a gun of her own. While Anatolia’s was called a “Salamander”, this one’s called “Cerberus”. I wonder if the guns are each named after a mythical creature, or if these ones are just personal weapons. Either way, Troy's does look cool.
Now that Hong Hua and Troy have been revealed, I wonder if we’ll meet this Xenon person next, presumably Thursday night…
Thank you, Crimson Flower
I really love how this post thumbnail shows in the notes btw
Ow, right in the culture.
An important thing to consider: does the topic you're discussing/debating directly impact your life (or a loved one's) in any significant way? Ask the same question for the person you're arguing against. If the answer is "no" for you, but "yes" for them, you need to understand that they aren't likely going to be able to argue this *for fun* with you.
I find it funny that two very popular nonbinary characters (Dante from Limbus Company and Kris Dreemurr) are often misgendered with the excuse of “they’re self inserts” because you couldn’t have picked any worse characters to use that excuse on. My self inserts: the character who constantly complains about their authority and opinions being disregarded and the character who is actively fighting me throughout the game

reminder for all hockey fans:
netflix is making a hockey show called "the sticks" that is based on a very real tragedy that occured in canada in 2018.
the show follows a minnesota high school team after their bus crashes and coming back to hockey afterwards.
in 2018, the humboldt broncos' (a junior A team made up of 18-22 year olds) bus was hit by a tractor trailer on a highway intersection. 16 people (10 players, 2 coaches, and 4 team staff members) were killed, along with 13 other players severely injured.
the memory of the humboldt broncos crash is an incredibly sensitive subject carrying a lot of trauma to both the survivors, their families, and deceased's families. the trajectory of hockey in canada was changed significantly after this tragedy.
despite this, netflix has decided to make a show using the death of young hockey players for profit. they did not consult the survivors, nor the deceased's families. they stole a canadian story for a feel-good cash grab.
i understand wanting to watch shows about hockey, but this is not the show to watch. do not give it attention, as the humboldt broncos' memories deserve to be theirs and theirs alone to share.
A fish swimming in the Great Lakes today may have been alive before many colonial settlements existed in the region.
A new scientific study suggests lake sturgeon may live far longer than previously believed. Using 44 years of tagging and recapture data from five Great Lakes populations, researchers estimated that male lake sturgeon may live 90 to 279 years, while females could potentially reach 99 to 427 years.
For many years, scientists estimated sturgeon age by counting growth rings in fin spines, similar to tree rings. Researchers now say that method becomes less reliable as lake sturgeon age because their growth slows and the rings become increasingly difficult to distinguish. By tracking individual fish over decades, the study offers a new way to understand how long these ancient fish may live.
The findings also align with knowledge long shared by some Indigenous communities, whose oral traditions have described lake sturgeon as exceptionally long-lived beings. In many Great Lakes cultures, sturgeon hold deep importance as part of foodways, seasonal knowledge, and relationships with waterways.
Lake sturgeon were once heavily harvested and treated as nuisance fish in the late 1800s, contributing to major population declines. According to Michigan DNR reporting, less than 1% of historic Great Lakes lake sturgeon numbers remain. Because they mature slowly and reproduce over many decades, recovery takes time across generations.
The study highlights the value of long-term monitoring and collaboration among Tribal Nations, fisheries researchers, universities, and conservation agencies. Protecting healthy rivers, spawning habitat, and connected waterways remains important for the future of this species.
