Soo did y'all know you can get a soldering iron for 8 bucks? I didn't. I do now. I'm about to burn the shit out of myself.
it's fun to run it's fun to play, it's fun to make things out of clay it's fun to fill your car with gas
it's fun to break things made of glassss
now the burning will commence

first time doing stained glass first time using a soldering iron. It looks like shit and i could not love it more
Also i think it might be permanently attached to that table, but y'all know how it is you win some and you lose some .
the horse has been unstuck from the table and i think I'm getting better at this ^^
this post is from may 3rd so i thought I'd update it a bit.
I ended up using the glass not used in the horse to make this as my first Real stained glass thing, finished may 17th:
May 19th:
and now this is what I've been picking at on and off when i have the time to do so since:
i think... there might be a theme here.
(this was finished in March 2023,)
Anyways happy birthday to me having a mania fueled sleep deprivation and pots episode in the craft store.
and some more i can't be fucked to figure out when they were made:
This shows that the best time to start a craft was 20 years ago. The next best time is now.
The third best time is in a sleep deprived fugue state at a craft store.
joining the war on piracy on the side of piracy
when will my primary blog return from war.. it's been barely two days and I already miss seeing my blorbos and mutuals rambling in tags. they say it might take around a month to recover wtf
This crew has spilled a great deal of blood to make your name what it is. It doesn’t belong to you. It’s a jointly held asset belonging to every man on this crew who sacrificed some part of himself to build it.

Get yourself a fabric store that will light your fabric on fire for you
No but legit I asked what the fiber content of something was and the guy didn’t know so he cut a chunk off and lit it on fire and felt the ashes and was like. Yeah this is mostly cotton with a lil bit of silk. And that was the moment I knew. This is it. This is the fabric store for me. Also that guy is marriage material. Not for me but damn some person is gonna be so happy with him.
Ok but this is actually one of the easiest ways to tell what something is made of! I did a textiles degree and one day as part of a class we all went outside with a pile of scrap fabric and set fire to the little pieces and recorded how they burned. We were given a chart that looked something like this to tell what each fabric was (it gets a little tricky is it’s a mix of fabrics though). Why did we do this? There is very little regulation in the textiles industry so a lot of materials are mislabelled as something they aren’t and sold for more than they should be, also sometimes people buy fabric second hand or discounted which doesn’t have any label at all. If you have a fabric you are having doubts about, cut a tiny piece off and do the burn test and you should know pretty fast what you are dealing with. Anyways your fabric store should be lighting things on fire because this means that they are actually checking what the fabrics are and aren’t trying to pass cheap stuff off as more expensive than it is.
Ooh! I knew it was a standard test but I hadn’t seen a chart as detailed as this thank you!
society is jumping the gun big time why the fuck are we developing AI and robots and shit brother we don't even have printers or vacuums that aren't dogshit CAN we dial it back
Big brain move
but why. does a skate park exist. if the city doesn’t want skateboarders. this is not a walmart parking lot we’re talking about. this is not a thing that was designed for a purpose other than skateboarding that skateboarders encroached on like an invasive species. you are trying to deter loitering in a place where it should not be possible to loiter. it’s not like the sand was put there to stop homeless people from sleeping there. which is awful but I can at least comprehend cities doing it to benches and shit. the sand was specifically meant to deter skateboarders
you built a skate park. with money. presumably taxpayers paid for there to be a place specifically made for skateboarding. and then those same taxpayers paid to get those nasty skateboarders out of the big concrete bowls that are just there for show I guess
dogs are not allowed in the dog park

hey tumblr go eat shit you gormless little sex hating bitch
A big part of the reason I am terrified by anti-adult-content censorship is that for a lot of people, queer people are inherently adult just by existing. Erasing adult content then erases queer people significantly. We're seeing it not just on the internet, but libraries, too. It's overwhelmingly queer stuff getting flagged. They're trying to erase us completely.
when i first started reading fanfic online in the late 90s (before social media and sites like FFN/AO3 were even a glimmer) and fic was hosted on individual fansites this was often the case.
I distinctly remember several site runners/communities that considered ANY LEVEL of queer content an automatic M/NC-17/whatever they used as the highest, most adult rating. Even if all the characters did was hold hands or kiss. And that was IF the content was allowed at all.
this probably sounds like ancient history to some of the younger people around here, but you have no idea how hard people have worked for and fought for this cultural change, and I think the people who have lived this are very, very, very aware of how incredibly easily that ground could be lost.
remember it was queer studies literature the nazis burned first
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you cancel/postpone an event or activity because you’re not feeling up to it physically or emotionally, and then you feel better after resting/not doing the thing, this doesn’t mean that you were lying, or that you actually were well enough. You just gave yourself the time you needed to rest and recover. Look after yourselves.
please share this if you have the same feeling or made an experience like that yourself
let's unite and raise awareness! put some pressure on Tumblr!
From reading several posts on Reddit thread r/TumblrAcctTerminated I have a suspicion it might be related to using VPN? (And explicit content might not be always the case?)

Book Burning Memorial
‘In the center of Bebelplatz, a glass window showing rows and rows of empty bookshelves. The memorial commemorates the night in 1933 when 20,000 “anti-German” books were burned here under the instigation of Goebbels. There’s a plaque nearby that says something like “Where they burn books, they will also burn humans in the end.” ’
Interesting but rarely mentioned: most of the content burned that night came from the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (institute for the science of sex) headed by Magnus Hirschfeld. The institute and Hirshfeld himself were some of the first to openly campaign for the right to have sex with someone of the same gender, the right to transition if you did not identify with your birth sex and for the general acceptance of queer people. The team had already performed the first SRS operations in Germany and in addition, the institute advocated sex education, contraception, the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and women’s emancipation. Photographs of the night of the book burning are plastered across history books world wide, but the queer movement that was destroyed that night often goes unmentioned.
reblogging again for that^
