āThat I am.ā Ā It had been more than just the shield, and how much of that Steve remembered, Howard had no way of knowing. Ā He had been very involved with Project Rebirth as the SSR had called their little pet project, designed the machine that Erskine had needed to create the super soldier that now stood before him. Ā Oh he was far more impressive up close, and far more dangerous than he had initially believed.
āHas there been a problem with it?ā he asked, moving around the desk to pull out the original schematic for the shield, stored in a small black notebook. Ā āIt should be just as durable as it was when I originally created it. Ā Unless of course there is another reason you are here General?ā
Rogers didnāt remember MUCH from those days --- a few scattered memories there and again, but nothing that seemed to actually make much sense. Not that he cared too much; he could get away with simple facts of the matter, but it seemed that he always seemed to be a bit... lost with what exactly had happened.
Either way, his attention focused back on the other,Ā āNo, Sir. Itās... been through a lot, and itās still as tough as nails.ā Rather, that wasnāt the prime reason he was here, but for now, it seemed he didnāt quite well care,Ā āI was wondering if you could make something for me."Ā However, it was a long shot, and he doubted it would even be approved,Ā āThe shield itself is great, but.... I need a better handgun. Something with more kick and less throwback.āĀ
