Have you ever not played The Sims for 6 months and then suddenly gotten the urge to stay up till 4 AM for several nights in a row playing it, and decide to play a Legacy Challenge and then witness your Legacy founder get autonomously Proposed to Go Steady, Proposed to Get Married, and successfully Try for Baby! all in a row immediately one after the other within the span of a Sim afternoon?

i was having a serious issue with a mod with a (relatively) complicated uninstall process, even after following all of the steps in said process, so i decided to do a clean reinstall in case there were traces of the mod in program files or something.

which is fine, because i made a backup of the sims 3 documents folder, right? i even copied my updated configured graphicsrules.sgr, options.ini, etc. proceeded with the clean reinstall. feelin' myself.

this binch forgot to backup all of my mod tuning library files. i had gone through retuner/SP with a fine toothed comb to get it just right for my town. and that's just two. iykyk. RIP.

Update: so after the clean reinstall I had even more errors???

AND THEN ORIGIN AUTONOMOUSLY UNINSTALLED MY GAME AND ALL EP/SPS???

thankfully they were all available for redownload- i know some people aren't as fortunate- but still wtf.

i'm low-key thankful this happened when it did and that I'm forced to start all over relatively early in my game, because otherwise i probably wouldn't have left Origin out of sunk-cost fallacy and who knows how much time i might have invested at that point (I feel so bad for the people this happens to who are SEVERAL GENERATIONS IN)

also thankful that i'm playing a LEPacy and alr have base game (and an expansion bundle) from a Steam sale from a while back. see u in patch 1.67 bbs

Yeah, I haven’t heard anything from @staff after sending tickets to @support both last week AND this week. IDK if they’re dragging their feet or what. And Toreno-werty’s simblr @three-stars-ranch was deleted last week, too, and hasn’t been restored yet either. So we’re all just waiting and hoping we can get our account access back.

My account has been restored!🥳

Yes, everyone! I have my account back! ’desiree-uk’ has been restored It has been the longest 4 days EVER!  So after multiple emails sent by me and only one automated reply from Tumblr staff, I was starting to lose hope, but thanks to a lot of supportive messages I didn’t want to give up, I really wanted my account back. I got a message from @treason-and-plot​ suggesting I go on Twitter and post on the Tumblr Support page. I didn’t have an account but I thought it couldn’t hurt to open a temporary one. I didn’t get a response but someone read my post and DM’d me suggesting I email them (Tumblr staff) again and follow this page, throwing in as much legal jargon in the email as possible and wait and see what happens. Within an hour I got an email saying my account has been restored!  The reason they gave for terminating my account was pretty much the same as why @katsujiiccfinds​ account was terminated too:

I couldn’t believe it! I made a post referring to some curtains on that site with a link 2 YEARS AGO! Yet nothing happened all that time until someone clicked on the link on Saturday and that’s what got my account terminated! So apparently your blog can be terminated if someone clicks on a triggering link after 2 years of making the post?? Okay then.🤨

I find this all a bit whimsical to be honest. It doesn’t make sense why that site is so triggering to them. But to cut off people’s account without any warning because of it, is a blatant disregard to the people who use their platform. The lack of communication pissed me off most of all. To have to quote their own Community Guidelines back to them to get a response is a massive fail on their part. I could go on but you all know how Tumblr is. It was actually cathartic to put it all in an email so they could see themselves as we see them. 😂

Anyway, the offending post has been deleted, I’ve added the name of the site in my filters, I won’t refer to it or link it again! I’ve been told.🙄

Please everyone, check your posts and add a filter to that site so this won’t happen to you. If It has happened, keep on at them. They seem to rely on people not bothering to question them. If your account isn’t important enough to you to get it back, why would it be important to them?

Now I’m gonna clean up my tags and make a full offline backup of my posts - just in case! 😛

Account terminated! But why??

Hey everyone! My Tumblr ‘desiree-uk’ has been terminated. I don’t know why, I just tried to log into it this morning and I see ‘This account has been terminated’. I’m so pissed! There was nothing wrong with it as far as I know. I’m waiting for an explanation from @staff, and hopefully I can get my account reinstated. 7 years of posts and reblogs gone!

  @staff Please restore a perfectly legit blog. Isn’t it what you promote? “As always, our priority is the people who make up this weird blue universe, and we’ll keep working to make sure we’re serving you as well as we can.” So please stop harassing simblrs, or at least send a word of warning beforehand so that there is an option to prevent these things!

Tumblr’s got some nerve to want Post+ and subscription services, when they don’t even do the bare minimum of similar sites to warn/inform users of impending strikes or bans. Youtube and Twitch and such have channel strikes, where they’ll at least give you 3 warnings before they ban you. Tumblr just deletes your whole blog when you’re not looking!

@katsujiiccfinds just went through this the other week, all because they apparently reblogged a post Tumblr deemed inappropriate, without any kind of heads up as to what sites are liable to get us banned if we reblog/link them. And before them it was @darkccfinds, and before that was @mspoodle1 – who’s next!?

@staff should at least publish a list of sites that its users should not link to, so that we’re better informed of what does and does not break its vague and amorphous rules/policies–not this trial and error malarkey that can have our entire blog terminated without warning! It honestly makes me scared to reblog anything around here, in case I step on one of Tumblr’s mines and my whole account blows up in my face!

Hopefully @desiree-uk can get their blog back, and hopefully Tumblr can stop being so obsessed with pitching subscription services for this unstable mess of a hellsite, and actually FIX the dang thing!

Surprise, surprise @staff​ deleting ANOTHER simblr blog with no warning, for no reason….

Sometimes I think deleting my main sims account was the wrong thing to do, then I think about what staff has done to me before, what they’ve done to me recently and what they’re STILL doing to simblrs now and I think I made the right decision.

They must hate this website as much as the users are growing to hate it because they are finding every reason to run people off of here.

You had a good thing and you ruined it. It’s not our fault your app got removed from numerous app stores for content you allowed and STILL allow on here. It’s not our fault you’ve allowed racism, misogyny, hate speech and bullying to flourish on here. It’s not our fault this website has become a meme in itself because people view staff as a joke. It’s not our fault you’ve completely botched your own website because you’re trying to keep up with the “Joneses.” (No matter how many “shiny new features” you come up with you’ll never be Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Hang up, flat screen.)

and in turn, you punish your users for not being aware of rules your staff literally doesn’t uphold themselves.

The Sims 3 Smooth Patch 1.0

Yeah, you read correctly, I said Sims 3 :)

This mod makes the game’s logic threads run faster, speeding up loading of Buy/Build and CASt, smoother UI elements, smoother CAS, fixes CAS music randomly stopping. Can also speed up live mode and loading, it’s essentially a general improvement.

Steam/Disk version: SFS / Dropbox

Simply unzip the file into your “The Sims 3/Game/Bin” folder.

Origin version: SFS / Dropbox

For Origin, unzip the file into your “The Sims 3/Game/Bin” folder, and launch the game from “TS3PatchLauncher.exe” every time you want to play. It’ll be just like launching the game normally from Sims3Launcher, going through Origin and everything. If you’re bypassing the launcher by renaming your TS3.exe to Sims3Launcher.exe, it will also work just fine so don’t worry about it!

Origin Users: The launcher will attempt to boot as administrator if possible, to ensure the patch goes through.

You can configure the mod by editing the TS3Patch.txt file with notepad. I left comments in that file on how to set it up if you’re having any issues or if you think your computer is good enough to increase the speed more (or decrease it if the default is too demanding). You can also increase the “Delay” value by around 1000-5000 if the patch is failing.

The changes are most noticeable in CAS: Smoother body sliders, Sim rotation and quicker switching of clothes.
