Early concept art of a scenario for New Donk City in Super Mario Odyssey, where a cat is holding a Power Moon in its mouth and Mario tries to obtain it by beckoning the cat to come closer. Nothing even remotely like this scenario occurs in the finished game.

Note that early artwork shows Peach being present in many scenarios in New Donk City (note her being visible cut off at the left edge of the image), suggesting that she was at some point thought to accompany Mario in that area, or be a more important character for that segment.

Happy Mar10 day! I decided to post all three of my outfit designs that I was playing around with a few years ago for the mario girls (I’ve posted Rosalina and Daisy before). Peach's dress is inspired by 18th century French ball gowns, and Daisy's is inspired by royal ancient Egyptain clothing. Rosalina was kind of a freestyle for me, I just tried to make her feel more other-wordly!

Being told to use Claude for a work task has been a fascinating exploration into just how little patience I have for tolerating bullshit in the way I develop software. How are people saving time with this fucking thing?

I gave it the outline of the task, it gushed with that typical LLM sycophantic enthusiasm that I'd given it something to do and then set about shitting out some code. Sure. Okay. Does this do what I asked for? Maybe. But now I have to go find out before I can proceed, so my workflow has boiled down to "ask for code, review code, tweak code, commit code". It took the fun problem solving part of my task away and left me all the middle management bullshit.

Even if I can make this work better, that's the bit of the job I want to do, that's the bit that keeps me sane. And in taking it away from me it also took away any enthusiasm I had for the task. There's no dopamine in getting this done now, so the amount of friction involved in forcing my brain to focus on getting it finished has become almost insurmountable.

I don't think I'm gonna use it for my next task. 🤷‍♀️
