Like, I get that people ship Britcedes, but let’s not kid ourselves that George was happy about Lewis’s win when he put that car on pole and wanted this win so badly after so many unlucky races. He’s angry and upset that he didn’t win, no matter what he says. As he should be. That fucking team let him down again. It’s the second time this season he didn’t win the race after putting the car on pole. The only good thing about this race for him was Antonelli’s DNF, not Lewis’s win. Let’s be real now.

i hate that Toto acts like it was George's pace issues that lost them a win. No, it was his team's dumb-ass strategy. If George pitted when Lewis did, he would have likely emerged ahead and would have had fresher tires after the VSC just like Lewis.

And maybe fucking figure out what keeps happening to George's car during the races. He was dominating in the first stint. It all screams a bit fake, like George was set up to make Antonelli look good. With their pace difference, I wouldn't be surprised if Antonelli was using special engine settings--except the PU couldn't handle it.

From the way George's tone changed recently, it's obvious that until now he was gaslit into believing the lack of pace in Japan and Miami were his fault, that the tracks just didn't suit him.

But even in Canada, his strongest track, he was fighting his car all qualifying and got the pole against all odds when no one expected it, because he's that good there. And then that strange DNF when he was leading and how utterly defeated he sounded after it. And then Monaco's qualifying when he's again fighting the car while his teammate is doing purple sectors.

The good news is George finally seems to have stopped having delusions about this team.

This video reminded me of all the hardship Seb had in 2012 before he won the championship. With 17 races to go, Seb was 5th in the championship (Hamilton was actually 1st, but he had 5 DNFs later and wasn’t even Seb’s main rival in the end). It’s a good reminder that the season is long and anything can happen yet.

I’m a huge Seb fan, but I barely remember his 2011 and 2013 championships. But the ones in which he overcame all the bad luck (2010 and 2012) were incredibly memorable.

If (when) George wins the championship this year, it’ll be so much more satisfying. #gr12026
