The final part of this lovely act where we get to see the starting point of Siffrin breaking down yay :D
ISAT is currently on sale, and if you haven't played it, turn off your phone and get started RIGHT NOW
SPOILERS FOR ALL OF ISAT BEWARE
Who decides whether someone has the right to cry? While the King does have the right to cry and mourn his country, he is also hurting people in the process. His reason for creating the curse is understandable, but the reason does not make up for his actions.
Little did they know, they currently are being immortalized. Siffrin's wish was so strong, it overcame even the King's Curse.
Mira's words really strike me in this moment. Her belief for change is overwhelming, something she has complete faith in, I admire her for it. If you refuse to do things different, be different, endure different, you cannot grow as a person.
I have sentiments of wanting to be stuck in a time of peace with the people I love, but if my wish had ever came true, I would not be the person I am today. I've grown more into myself, met more people, experienced beautiful things. I have anxieties for the future, but if I keep on going, keep on living, things will change. Hopefully, they'll change for the better.
Indirectly bashing on Siffrin
I love them all so much, I have so much faith in the <3
And maybe you never will. But staying caught up in the fact that you cannot say it, that you cannot remember, it's hurting you.
About that....
I NEED TO KISS HER
I don't think I ever could :)
Pretty House Times
Seeing this scene gives me chills every single time. I wonder what it was actually like in Siffrin's eyes, to see the end they worked so hard for fall apart in his hands. The mention of sugar sets up the next act so well, bringing the player's attention back to the specific detail of burnt sugar.
That's what you wanted, isn't it?
That's the fakest smile I've every seen, Siffrin-
And that's it for Act 2!!!!! I am so excited to start Act 3, and getting more into the parts of the game that I have a hard time remembering. I can't wait to see more Loop, and I plan on exploring more of the side quests/memories in the game that I didn't get to the first time around
PART 2 BABYYYYYYYYYYYYY
SPOILERS FOR ALL OF ISAT AHEAD
Isa being the refrigerator he is while Sif watches happily
The foreshadowing is so good that Bonnie has to get in on the action. The mention of the smell or taste sugar is such a distinctive detail that we, the player, cannot detect unless specifically mentioned. It's something that raises an eyebrow, but can be overlooked until later.
Gosh, this game is so beautiful...
I wonder why Siffrin is struggling with his role in the House. He seems to have been good enough for the entire team to trust their judgement and follow them through the House. Perhaps it's the nerves, or maybe because of how quick he got used to looping, he is a bit more laidback.
You will definitely regret thanking the one who "blessed" you
That's what I'm saying! Every single statue of the Change God has been found to be broken in the house. This much be one room that the King could not get his full power over.
i wonder if Mira had known deep down that Claude was frozen, but secretly hoped that they had escaped. She never mentioned the possibility of Claude still being in the house when they first were in their room. While she didn't like her roommate, she would never want someone to be affected by the King's Curse. Finally seeing him cemented her fear of someone she knew quite personally being affected by the curse. It must be harrowing for someone you see almost everyday to be stuck, frozen in time right in front of you.
I agree, Sif. It feels weird when people point out things that I do or say.
One of my favorite pieces of dialogue in the entire game. The King is such an intriguing characters that I understand his motivations to an extent. Him and Siffrin are both trapping the people they love in time, both affected by the loss of their country, and just trying to stop the possibility of losing something again.
They look so peaceful...
He looks so defeated, exhausted an in pain.
I only realized in this playthrough that this happened because of the loss of the country, I had first believed that this was a sort of glitch in a person's memory due to the looping. I finally understood the true nature of the scene while replaying it.
I am also quite ticklish, Isa
This is really something so beautiful that I didn't fully appreciate in my first playthrough. Mira has seen how much the King's Curse has affected people firsthand, and has such a doubt in her abilities that she worries she has already failed the people frozen in time. She is trying to recall them as a sort of memorial for them, making sure that if they are truly frozen forever, that they can at least be remembered.
Each word he speak sends chills down my spine
Gosh, he is so beautiful and overwhelming. There is grace in his grief, in his anger, in his motivation. One cannot refuse to acknowledge the agonizing beauty in his words and actions.
Finally onto act 2!!! This one was much longer than act 1, so my thoughts will be broken up into multiple posts.
THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR IN STARS AND TIME LIKE THE FULL GAME BASICALLY
FINALLY MY LOVE HAS RETURNED MWUAH MWUAH MWUAH <3
Yeah, sureeeee, that's totally the only reason why you're here, nothing else, no connections, na-da
Isa, you are going to get killed.
THEY ARE SUCH A FAMILY THEY WORK SO WELL TOGETHER I LOVE THEM ALL
Yes, he did. nya :3
Exactly how I feel about astrology. I love reading the silly little horoscopes and see how they relate to me (and ignore them if I don't like the message XD)
Anytime is snack time if you put your heart into it, Boniface.
Who am I if I do not fall under a single trait that will make up my entire personality and self-worth.
Mira not deadnaming shitty people, something most people somehow cannot do. She is the big 2026 woke /j
I noticed! I checked every single Change God statue in the House because I started noticing that they were all destroyed. I wonder if it's an effect from the King because he is defying the Change belief, so any symbol of the Change God is broken.
Isa, you are not hiding a single thing. I can read right through you.
I'm sorry ToT I love you but you are going to get us killed going that way.
Isa is so big brother, I love him so much <3
Siffrin has become way too comfortable with the notion of dying way too fast. They don't have a past, and must have not had much hope for the future. Once everyone went their separate ways, he didn't have anything to look forward to. Who knows how long he would have made it on his own.
I strive to be this passionate about learning like Odile is, she is truly aspiring to have this drive to learn, especially in this day and age.
Cute photo!!!! My babys <3
You have to be really really really really really awful for Mirabelle to dislike you.
You know her roommate's done some fucked up shit for Mira to hate them.
Isa, I hate this feeling. Please don't remind me. I refuse to become a real actual grown adult.
Replaying the game, I've started to like Bonnie more. In my first playthrough, I kinda wrote them off as a "gremlin chaotic neheheh" and nothing more than that. Sitting with them more, I see that their chaotic and loud nature is caused more by the fact of being thrown in such a scary situation at such a young age. They aren't loud just to be loud, but because they are lashing out. Their sister is frozen, and the other person they looked up to as a protector got hurt because of them, and they can't forgive themself for it.
It's been a year since I played ISAT with my friends, and decided now was the best time to replay for the ISAT Book Club! :D
I'll be logging my thoughts as I play onto here, starting with Act 1!
SPOILERS FOR (probably all) OF ISAT
Here we go again! Happy to see my lovely traumatized blorbos :3
CHANGE GOD IS THAT YOU-
Seeing him be so calm and resting before the probably most traumatic experience of their life is quite saddening. Traumatic events really hit you out of nowhere with no reason or rhyme, as that's just how life is.
The softness in the request is absolutely heartbreaking. She won't know for a long time if her loved one will join her again, or she'll be the one to join her stuck in time. The quiet grief and tragedy we see in this moment amidst the lively town haunts me throughout the game.
The stark contrast between the rest of the group's reasons versus Siffrin's really shows how little we know about him, and how little he knows himself. He's lost his family, his childhood, a time where you are meant to dream big about the future, and he has no recollection.
Mira's look of sadness in her eyes as she understands Siffrin's words kill me every time. The group as a whole know something is troubled with Siffrin, yet none are brave to admit.
The Change God and the religion surrounding it is so interesting to me. Possibly one of the best fictional religions I've seen in a piece of media, especially in the way it is integrated into the characters, setting, and story. You can truly feel the power of the Change God around you, whether Siffrin wants to believe it or not.
While in context this view is haunting, I find it beautiful. The quietness of a castle locked in silence feels peaceful.
So about that...
Oh the hurt when you find out the reason for Bonnie's brashness. The use of "anymore" indicating that there was a time they were able to deal with Bonnie.
I absolutely adore Isabeau, he's someone I want to become. Someone who is confident in their body and mind, who will stand up for others, and has dreams they wish to follow. He truly is brave.
THEY ARE THE CHEF COOKER, RESPECT THEM
Mira's insecurities shining through in this moment, doubting the loyalty her friends have for her, I understand that feeling all too well.
I would love to see what she would've done XD
Mira's broach being one of the best designed accessories in the game.
Top 10 Moments Captured on Camera Before Things Go Terribly Wrong
I died.
Correct!
And with that, Act 1 is complete! It is possibly the shortest act in the game, yet my post has gotten this long. I will be splitting up the rest of the acts into multiple posts due to the length.
If you reach the end of this and is interested to play ISAT, GO FOR IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT
