Was wondering how did each team react to Sentinel & Optimus having a sparkling?
What kind of difficulties did Sentinel face being sparked, like did anyone out right try to demote him?
Or act super nice since Iām gussung natural born bots are like super rare

Linking my original Opsen/sentiop post regarding these two, for anyone seeing this post first, for anyone who doesnāt want to read it before this tho, tldr: Sentinel gets sparked after he and Optimus hook up during one of Optimusā off times on Cybertron, he didnāt realize it until after Optimus is said to have perished, and so he chooses to keep the sparkling so he can at least have a piece from his old group of friends. Which then means shenanigans ensue when Optimus is very much alive and has to be inform of his childās existence on Cybertron.
So. Regarding Sentinelās teamās reactions, I like to personal believe Ultra Magnus and Jazz already had a hunch. Theyāve seen Optimus, theyāve seen the kid, and while they donāt bring it up, itās pretty clear that either Sentinel and Optimus had something or that Sentinel went for someone who shared a very very similar frame. For them finding out is just confirmation as well as an implication that Optimus is likely now going to be present in this childās life.
Major difference between Ultraās reaction versus Jazz is that Jazz probably is going to be the one trying to subtly (?) urge Sentinel to talk to Optimus. Meanwhile, while Ultra might wish for them to connect, heās not likely going to influence his second in any way regarding this unless Sentinel comes to him (which he probably wonāt because Sentinel has very strong opinions about showing weakness in front of him.) Maybe at best he makes a vague statement in order to attempt to start a conversation?
Now for the twins? Hoooo boy. The twins finding out is just a recipe for trouble. Theyāre going to pester Sentinel with many many questions and tease him about Optimus (Allspark help him if they get any wind whatsoever that Sentinel does have romantic feelings for Optimus) and absolutely plead to spend some time with the kid, whichā¦Sentinel does not think is a good idea at all tbh. Maybe Jazz can babysit but the twins??? No. Theyāre going to turn his little spark into a menace.
Now, Optimusā team finding out he has a sparkling is definitely where weāre getting bigger reactions:
Ratchetās probably the most calm, maybe grumbling something about it being unsurprising which raises some questions for Optimusāthough I like to think this leads into a very nice conversation regarding Arcee because of her schoolteacher job. Ratchet helps soothe Optimusā worries by pointing out that he handles Sari, Bee, and Bulk pretty well and together they might equal one whole sparkling, which cracks Optimus up. He then wistfully wishes that Arcee could be the one teaching them.
Bee has a bit of an overblown reaction. My former drill sergeant and bossbot??? EW. Optimus why out of anybot would you choose that? Definitely thinks about his bootcamp days and shivers imagining Sentinel making his sparklet do transform ups. āOptimus that kid needs you, I cannot imagine having sarge as a carrier.ā Gets excited about watching the kid the same way the twins do, but is definitely thinking about introducing them to organic stuff so they arenāt as freaked out by Earth as Sentinel is.
Bulkhead is surprised, and also a little worried like Bee is, but heās certainly more nuanced. Optimus knows Sentinel best, so if he trusts that the kid is growing up well, maybe itās alright to tone back the worry. Heās also interesting in meeting the kid eventually and is curious how theyāll turn out. I think heād be the one to ask Optimus why in he doesnāt go with guard in season 2 if going meant heād be able to see and take care of his kid (if Optimus tells them then of course, though personally that might be a s3 reveal because as we see with BA, Optimus really will keep secrets close to his chest) I think itās something that would also be in the back of his mind while repairing the space bridge too tbh.
Prowlās feelings are ones Iām little unsure of, but I would like to say heās another one Optimus has a good conversation with. I donāt think heās shocked that Sentinel and Optimus have a kid (heās a cyberninja and the tension is obvious), but I think he asks Optimus some more interesting questions. Stuff more about how the kid might turn out and if Optimus is ready to support her (Ratchet probably asks these questions too) and then maybe he talks about some cyberninja stuff regarding life and the Allspark. Itās nice.
Sariās reaction is similar to Beeās but probably less intense, also less intense depending on if this pre or post transformation Sari. Pre season three is going to very much agree with Bee, but post transformation is more likely to understand their relationship being a complicated one. She very much wants to meet the kid and if theyāre a girl? Even better! (Especially for young Sari, she has no girl friends her age at all.) She thinks Optimus will be a great dad too, after all, he did good taking care of her. Also asks a lot of questions about cybertronian babies and definitely gives Optimus a flash back to her telling him about human babies.
With Sentinelās carrying, I think it was decently rough one and that did show up during work. I could definitely see someone try to say he should be removed from his position until after his carriage ended (or maybe removed in general) but I do feel like Ultra helped stop this from happening.
As for people being nice, I do think he got some congrats from coworkers and people trying to help, but he was a little wary and wanted to still seem unaffected (he was not). Regarding worldbuilding here, I could see natural born bots being rarer, but not completely uncommon with the whole Allspark disappearance. The biggest boon of it was likely you could have both bots who grew from a sparkling stage to a grown bot and bots who could come out in a grown frame, essentially an instant armada if you needed one. I do think some bots might have some questions for Sentinel though, especially if they havenāt heard much about botās getting sparked and carrying compared to the use of the Allspark.
