I'd like to remind everybody that this isn't just about A03 or civil rights organizations. This could be applied to any 501 organization. That includes churches, schools, museums and library support organizations. All sorts of support organizations like soup kitchens or places like goodwill. Those are all non-profit organizations and they all have a 501 status. This is a threat to every civil organization we have that is meant to help the public.
So please contact your representatives. Please look this up on Twitter and click the link so you can call your representatives and voice against this. Because there's a hell of a lot more at stake with a bill like this than just ao3. People's lives could be at risk.
The House will vote THIS WEEK to determine whether the incoming Trump administration will have the power to shut down non-profit organizations with no due process.
Congress has already tried to fast-track this legislation once and failed because of the onslaught of calls to their offices. We canât let them do this quietly. Congress giving Trump the power to crush dissent and target organizations fighting for justice is a betrayal. Tell your representatives to vote NO on this dangerous bill!
This means that it's heading over to the Senate, where they'll tinker with it and vote again.
If it passes the Senate, it goes to the President, who has the option to veto.
Which means NOW you reach out to your Senators (both of them) and tell them that you want them to vote NO on this Trojan horse of awful.
But: we have two more chances to keep this from becoming law. The fight's not over yet.
And that's not even the good news!
For various reasons of political fuckery/ rules lawyering, this bill had to go through TWO rounds of votes in Congress to get through.
It didn't pass the first time because it had a higher threshold of votes to meet (2/3 Congress Critters had to vote yes) and it failed because it couldn't clear that bar.
So the people behind the bill sent it through AGAIN in a way that needed fewer votes to pass (only 1/2 of Congress Critters had to vote yes). This time it got through.
But along the way, almost 40 people changed their vote to "No". ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR OUTREACH.
That's huge.
Here's the home page for the bill. Check out the "Roll Call Votes" section to see how your Representative voted:
Summary of H.R.9495 - 118th Congress (2023-2024): Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act
Personally? Mine flipped her vote from "Yes" in the first round to "No" in the second.
Outreach. Works.
So, what do we do now?
Click the link above, and see how your Rep voted
Send them an email thanking them for their support/ telling them how disappointed you are. Why? Because it's important to let them know you pay attention to how they vote.
Contact your Senators (both of them) and ask them to vote NO
Contact the White House and let President Biden know you want him to veto this thing if it hits his desk

Danny and Signal arrived at the enterance without issue. The Purple Hood person there pointed them to his parents the moment he said loud. Dissapointing but not supprising.
"Dann-o!" His farher called waving enthusiastically "I see you've met the local ghosts! Have they mentioned anything of their unfinished buisness? And what happened to your hair?"
You couldn't see signal's eyes through his cowl, but his expression was firmly in a confused 'excUSE ME?' Expression.
"Wait what?" Danny pulled a lock of hair infront of his eyes and watched it fade back to black. "That's new. Anyway, Dad," Danny sighed, running a hand down his face "this is Signal. He's a meta. Metas are Humans-" punctuated by wild gesturing to himself and the rest of the crowd "-that have extra abilities. Signal can manipulate light, and I can create ice."
The fentons all froze at that. "Create ice?" His mother breathed.
"Yep!" Danny cheered, making an ice bird in his hand. "I was on the ride the not-announcer-"
"Joker?"
"Didn't seem too funny to me. Anyways, the not-announcer attacked the ride, and I managed to freeze the wheeles, and now I know that I have ice powers!"
His parents had a giddy expression on that read that he was in for a game of 21 questions when he got home, and jazz had buried her hands in her face.
"Please tell me you haven't been calling the joker -the guy that attacked you- not-announcer-guy..." Jazz pleaded.
Danny made a thoughtfull expression. "You see, I could, but then I'd be lying. Besides," he shrugged "he got a better name than Visorless Biker and Firetruck over there,"
The purple one, who was debriefing with Signal suddenly let out a Loud cackle. "I absoloutely need to call them that now!" Practically sprinting at them.
Signal shook his head and went to follow her, wether to continue the debrief or prevent a murder (Biker had a very 'fuck off' aura) who knows.
Before he could leave, Danny's dad called him. "Mr. Signal! You are human correct?" At Signal's confused confirmation, "are the other Bats human as well? We're mostly here for GHOST! Research!"
Signal bit his lips, obviously realising that Danny's parents were just like that(tm).
"Yes," he spoke slowly, "we're all human, just highly trained, and Very Private. If you want to do more reaserch, you'll have better luck in Central City. The speedsters love to talk about the mechanisims of meta abilities like theirs."
Danny's Dad slumped in defeat, while his Mum clapped her hands "Well then. Danny, we're very proud of you for your newfound abilities, and I want to hear all about them when we get home, but we should get going home.
"There aren't any ghosts here that live long term on this side of the veil. We might have more luck elsewhere."

Ao3 (maybe?)
So! The Gotham arc is finished! Hope everyone's enjoying so far, and that brains don't get too broken in the next part,
Edit: as a side note, I haven't actually read any Dc comics, and the only cartoon I've watched of theirs is young justice. (And Liegion of superheros, but that's set centuries in the future) so if i get anyone wildly ooc, please tell me. My only reference is fannon, after all.
So the battle is won. In the weirdest way. Vigilante gets his kid back. And the Justice League has more than a few questions about how the heck the newest heroes from the Midwest accomplished that. So does Danny.
Tucker just wants to get a power list set from each of them.
This long form comic story telling was harder than I thought. I think I might stick to the three/four panel strips for a while.
Danny! I'm half ghost actually, you really shouldn't be wandering around aimlessly in Gotham unless you have a haunt... Hopefully you know what that is?
I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said âmight as well see if it works.â I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if youâre a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.
dude.
$2,714 of medical debt from my top surgery - gone. im shaking this was such a weight on me for 2 years and it fucking worked. what the fuck.
Hospitals like to hide these policies under a lot of successive links in obscure places, so if you don't see anything right away, keep looking! Get friends to help! Make it a scavenger hunt. A game where you're assassins sent to slit capitalism's throat

Danny what do u do when ya get kicked out of your living body and now have to live(lmao) as a ghost, like my body right there it still breathing but I can't get in
I think you're in a coma... Are you sure you're alright? Is your body bleeding? Or anything of the sort? Perhaps injured? Cuz I've never had a problem like that unless your body IS overshadowed and all...
I think this might be a serious case of overshadowing...? I'm no exorcist and I don't really know where you liveâ ...is it ruining your life? Is it evil?
Nah whenever I tried talking to it it just, stopped. Look around until it finds the general area I'm in and just stare. And then it goes on with its, or should I say my day.

We did it in color study class on my college and itâs incredible the difference between using red/blue/yellow than cyan/magenta/yellow.
The purple was colored like shit, so as the greens. Than we tried the actuall primary colors and it FELT SO GOOD!
Listen up you fucks because Iâm not wasting thousands of dollars on an art degree to watch yâall fuck up basic color theory.
Red, yellow, and blue are the primary colors
If youâre using p i g m e n t.
Do you hear me? When youâre using traditional media, fucking actual goddamn paint, Bob Ross style, your primary colors are!
When you use paint, your primary colors are red yellow and blue and donât forget it.
NOW THAT CHANGES COMPLETELY WHEN YOU GO FUCKING DIGITAL.
THE DIGITAL PRIMARY COLORS ARE RED BLUE AND GREEN IF AND ONLY IFÂ YOUR WORK IS GOING TO STAY DIGITAL, ON THE SCREEN, AND NEVER LEAVE THE SCREEN, AND OF COURSE IF YOUR WORK IS GOING TO BE PRINTED. ON A PRINTER. WITH INK. THEN. AND O N L Y Â T H E N.
ARE YOUR PRIMARY COLORS.
CYAN.Â
MAGENTA.
AND YELLOW.
So say it with me folks!
Red yellow and blue, are the primary colors for traditional pigment thatâs mostly used in paints and shit. You use red yellow and blue when youâre painting traditionally, Bob Ross style.Â
Red blue and green is light, which is what youâre painting with when you pick up your tablet and go digital.
CMYK is ink, and ink only. You could use cyan, magenta, and yellow as your primary colors in paint if you wanted to be a complete dick, but theyâre not your primary colors unless your work is going to be printed using. i n k. The only time they could be considered the primary colors in a traditional medium is if youâre using ink.
Also thatswhiskytoyouâs color mixing is bullshit because THIS:
Is my icon. I painted this using RED. GREEN. AND BLUE. AS MY PRIMARY COLORS and they turned out fine. Of course, I used the finger smudge tool first and then the color mixing tool and then the blur tool, but hey what do I know.
Clearly using the blur tool only doesnât cut it.
âOh but Leo!â You say. âYou used cyan and magenta in that color wheel!â
Well bitch guess what.
this is the digital color wheel. Iâd say I mimicked that pretty well, donât you think?
Oh and one other thing, notice how Blue and Yellow are directly opposite each other on this color wheel? Thatâs because weâre dealing with light, and with light, yellow and blue are complimentary colors.
Which is why when you mix them, it looks like this:
Which is a pretty neutral gray tone: They cancel each other out on the rgb color wheel when you mix them together.
BUT WITH PIGMENT THE PLACEMENT IS DIFFERENT
If youâll notice, yellow and violet are now opposite each other, meaning theyâre complimentary colors and if you mix  them, theyâll make a neutral gray.
But if you mix yellow and blue, same colors as before, YOU GET THIS:
Now keep in mind that the person in the video uses a darker blue, so they get a darker green, but the point is that it doesnât make that neutral gray.
Now what happens when we mix yellow and violet paint?
Ah yes, you get a bunch of muted colors the more evenly you mix them.
What happens when you mix yellow light and purple light?
They didnât teach you about red blue green and cmyk in pre-k because when most of us were in pre-k digital art was still in its early stages and what fucking seven year old knows how to use a printer.
The reason the primary colors for light are so dramatically different from the primary colors for paint and ink is because your eye only receives combinations of red light, blue light, and green light. Our eyes do not have a sensor (cone cell) for yellow light. So when we paint with light, red green and blue are our primary colors. Because of our eyes.
Furthermore, paint primary colors are colors that cannot be created by mixing other colors together. For paint, they are red yellow and blue, because you cannot mix orange and green to get yellow. Mixing orange and purple paint does not make red. And mixing green and purple paint does not make blue.
Mixing blue and green paints will make cyan. Mixing red and blue paints will make magenta.
Thatâs why cyan and magenta arenât primary paint colors.
However, you canât mix yellow and blue ink and get cyan. You canât mix red and blue ink to get magenta.
And thatâs why cyan and magenta are the primary ink colors.
Brighter and stronger paints are created through tints and shades, through a thorough understanding of color theory and a few quality paint recipes. Not by bullshit posts on tumblr designed to mislead you.
Litt my face as a traditional artist when digital artists try to tell me that I donât know shit about colour theory because of the primaries I use⊠No buddy, itâs not me. It you.

Danny, now an adult, has just moved to the city of Gotham. Actually heâs been an adult for a while, but every once in a while he has to end his life, at least legally, lest someone get suspicious. Usually whenever Dan or Ellie does an oopsie and pulls a firebird with being reborn through their core.Â
So legally, one Danyal Nightingale, has just moved to Gotham to open a bakery (Thank you for the wonderful recipes and bonding Clockwork) while taking care of his practically newborn son Jordan. Of course Elnath- Ellie- had to pull a core retreat too, which is just his luck.Â
It wouldnât be a problem, but heâs trying to not be so broody. A ghost- even a half-ghost- carrying another core though, has instincts turned up to like, eleven. Which again, wouldnât be much of a problem if not for someone falling into his dumpster late at night bleeding. A vigilante, which heâs sworn to stay away from that life years ago. And itâs not a lethal woundâŠ
But his instincts are screaming to not let the person bleed all around his nest, and he knows from experience that it would continue to bother him. Which is how he ends up with Batman on his couch to Danâs glee if the ghost chirps are to go by.Â
Ok ok but, this piqued my song story writer heart.
Hosier has a song, Work Song, and just, agh, ramble under the cut
* followed by italics denote the beginning and end of a lyric excerpt.
Three ~ are a line break.
*Boy's was working on empty; is that the kinda way to face the burning heat?*
The pounding of his head and ache in his chest was the first thing he felt, the throbbing of the likely concussion and the likely fractured ribs beating a strange symphony. It felt like a hangover from hell, but he knew it wasn't something so simple.
*Boys when my baby found me, I was three days on a drunken sin.*
He felt a couch under him, the back of the couch pressed against one of his arms, a pillow under his neck but the face mask still on. So either a known person who didn't need to look.
Or an unknown who actually respected his privacy.
*I woke with their walls around me; nothing in the room but an empty crib*
When he finally opened his eyes, he was careful to try and make it seem like he'd not woken yet, just in case. He didn't recognize the apartment. Walls covered in a mural of a galaxy in space. Done likely by hand and well crafted, even he could tell that. Opposite the couch he was on, across a coffee table littered with both baking magazines and books as well as space books as science magazines, was a crib, seemingly empty but used recently from the rumpled blankets, so not a newborn considering the crib had toys in it appropriate for a baby or young toddler.
Another sweep of the room would have to wait till his head stopped throbbing, the light in the room giving his headache new energy as he carefully regulated his breathing to manage it.
How long had he been there? It was clearly day time from the light from the window he could see from the corner of his eyes, so it's been a few hours. Last thing he remembered was a fight with one of scarecrow's more tenacious minions getting a good hit in on his head and falling from the roof into a dumpster before blacking out.
He'd expected to wake up in the dumpster, or tied up to use as a experiment by the rogue doctor, or, if he was lucky (don't think about how he wasn't lucky, how you were to late, always to late) maybe Alfred had realised something was wrong and came and got him.
But this was none of those and he wasn't sure quite what level of concern was needed.
He'd realized his suit was taken off, before having seen it folded beside the coffee table, due to the extra large soft shirt he was wearing over bandages.
"You're awake. How's your head? Took quite a tumble last night." The Midwestern accented voice startled him, but he kept the reaction contained to just opening his eyes, braced for the pain the light brought only to find the window blinds pulled and the room not dar but dimmer, and much easier on his head.
"Where am I?" He didn't dare ask more than that. His head felt like he was feverish, likely the fog in his thoughts from the confusion, but it made his movements slightly less subtle. He was sure it was obvious as he looked over the person who's couch he was likely sleeping on.
*And I was burning up a fever; I didn't care much how long I lived,*
Loose jeans set low on slightly wide hips, flour dusted on the thighs in almost hand prints from clearly having dusted them off on it, with a t shirt with a different galaxy printed on it. Both were hidden under an apron that, when he looked, was tied higher up, just at rib level, and didn't quite sit flat like one would expect with the lithe body they had, a slight curve that-only due to research and interactions with others-implied pregnancy, at least with the slight darkening of the eye and nose bridge area differently than the olive tone the other supported on their face.
What confirmed his suspicions-as well as relaxed him a bit, rarely were parents as much a risk in cases like this, when they're sure there's no danger to their children-was the almost instinctively driven brush of a hand over their stomach as they noticed him looking them over.
*But I swear I thought I dreamed them; They didn't ask me once about the wrong I did.*
"Found you outside of my bakery in the dumpster, bleeding pretty badly from a head wound. I couldn't quite leave you there and I didn't know where your haunt was, so I just took you here. Don't worry, I didn't take your mask off, just the cowl part to clean and patch your injury, carefully washed the blood off before I put it back on too. How are you feeling? Your ribs likely hurt too, a few seemed broken, those always are a right pain to heal." The voice was decidedly low, but honest sounding.
They spoke from experience, he could tell. It made a spark of worry light up in his chest, covent l concern not unlike what had him bring Dick, and Jason, into his home, but not quite the same.
"My name's Danyal, but call me Danny please, I -" he was interrupted by a curious sounding chirp and half babble, a face similar enough to Danny's on the toddler as Danny was used as a stationary object to stand with before being picked up and settled with ease of practice on a hip, carefully positioned as to avoid the stomach.
"Sorry, Jordan here's been watching you curiously since I brought you in. He likes your cowl I think." He said it as if he didn't know, but he had that tone and look like any parent that knew what their kid meant when talking about something random.
~~~
*My babe would never fret none, about what my hands and my body done.*
He'd stayed there a few days, until Danny, confirmed using he/him, felt safe letting him "go throw himself into danger again like it personally wronged him", but he found himself drifting back now and then.
He'd looked into Danyal Nightingale of course, but what information that he found implied fleeing from a bad situation, not someone who was hiding something, and considering they were at least a family of metas if not not entirely human, he didn't blame them.
But that didn't explain why he kept coming back.
Tim was who first pointed it out. After forcing his way into the cave and the Robin suit-having apparently gotten permission from Dick, who was also showing up more in costume, and had even come to dinner one night recent-he'd noticed the pattern.
*If the lord don't forgive me*
The grief was still there, it ached some days more than he had felt since he was 8.
On those nights, usually having a shadow clinging tighter to remind him of his humanity.
*I'd still have my babe and my babe would have me.*
It was Danny who suggested a solution he'd not thought of yet.
"Why not have him tried federally and in a neutral court away from here. They'll find him guilty and considering the meditations of his actions, there's no way he'll be able to use the insanity excuse."
Soon the Joker was out of his city and while he was still somehow communicating with his goons to cause trouble, it was easier to handle, and the grief was easier now, knowing, Jason's killer, after long last, was gone.
*In the low lamp light I was free; heaven and hell were words to me.*
So he didn't question much when he kept returning to the bakery, and eventually the apartment each night.
Tim and Alfred and Dick all encouraged it, and the therapy it prompted him to get to process the grief.
He didn't question the night he was invited in, Jordan, "Dan", asleep in his room, just him and Danny, when he took off his cowl and mask fully, remover wipe in hand to remove the extra layer of khol that hid what the masks didn't. Didn't question the gentle hand on his cheek.
He did question when Danyal, Daniel, told him about his past, about his former caped past. About friends lost to family that decided he was a monster that needed to be destroyed, about hiding in a time away from time and recovering with his mirror family turned children, one he currently carried and the other sleeping in the other room. But he was expected to ask, and given information to help protect others as much as to protect Danny.
Soon it wasn't just him stopping by the bakery, it was Danny and Jordan stopping by the mansion. Of dinners joined.
Even as far along as he was with Ellie, Danny helped when Tim's family were gone, comforted him as well, and helped Bruce bring him home officially when Tim had been unofficially theirs for weeks at that point.
The guest room set up for Danny was at one point never used again, as Bruce found more and more reason to sleep in his own bed instead of working to exhaustion every night.
A cool back to his front, arms protectively around Danny as they slept.
I love this! The prompt was wonderful and this reblog is masterful, more please đ„č(from the original author or anyone else)? And like the another reblog suggested I like the name Dayna for this Danny; it flows easier with the nickname Danny to me. Also I love the Hosier and baby Dan and Ellie! Also love the Bruce and Danny ship its unfortunately rare but Bruce is my favorite so I love this!
Also love the person i reblogged tags about Talia, I donât like her so this was a great surprise for me :)
