An attempt gone wrong
Dick wasn’t feeling himself lately, as a part of himself felt dead, like half of himself wasn’t there anymore. He felt alone, his heart felt shallow, like small pieces of it felt empty, broken.
He wasn’t sure what to do anymore. He wasn’t sure what he was living for. Sure, he wasn’t nightwing, and to him, that was important, saving people’s lives, helping Gotham. But, it was straining his mental health, having to patrol the city everyday, having to risk his life to save people, he knows he’s doing all of this on his will, nobody was forcing him to help.
To him, Gotham needed someone better than him. Someone who would sacrifice their entire life for Gotham and its people. Someone to be there when people need. He’s always there, but he still thinks it’s not good enough.
So currently, he was in his room, in the Wayne manor, as he was currently back to staying there with Bruce. He was rethinking his decisions, what he did in the past. One thing was certain, he missed his dead parents. Everyday, he wished it was him instead, or that he died with them. He couldn’t imagine being here still, without them. They were his first family, until he met Bruce, and his brothers. It was nice, don’t get him wrong, he was grateful that Bruce took him in, but he still wished the events changed. That he was the one who died instead, that his parents still would be living their lives, going places, still doing their circus.
He really did wish everything turned out differently.
So there he was, a rope tied to the ceiling, and a chair that he stood on. He wasn’t 100% sure to what he was doing, but his body felt like it was doing it on its on. He tied the rope to his neck, and could feel his pulse quicken, his legs were hovering above the chair. There he was, hanging himself from the ceiling fan. No other way out.
Dickie.. why.. Please don't die.. I don't know how to comfort you but if you never existed back in the past who would have cared for me..? Who would have cared and kept others alive? You are a reason the family isn't dead you bring life.. please don't ruin yours.. Big brother please survive..
Dick definitely felt like he was dying. How could he even hear Jason? He was gone, a long time ago. Yet..he could still hear him, still feel his presence.
He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do. He knew he should stay alive to help Gotham, but..was it really worth fighting for? Gotham was a decent place, he had his family there.
But, so much pressure, so much expectations. He wasn’t sure on what to think of it anymore.
