Anne Carson, from “The Glass Essay” (Glass, Irony, and God)
Odd Nerdrum
You: Being a witch must be so ethereal and so dangerous. I imagine you walking in the woods, naked, after sunset, eating only the dew off the ferns. Exquisite. Divine. Otherworldly.
Me: There’s literally a bread holiday, Susan.
🔮 13 goals of a witch 🔮
How to cultivate each goal
✨ I. Know yourself: practice mindfulness and meditation, start journaling daily, analyze your dreams, define your core values, take a few minutes every day to pause and observe the world around you, make lists of everything that defines you (your favorite movies, your political beliefs, your favorite books, your best and worst memories, etc).
🕯️ II. Know your craft: understand the different types of witches, and which one you feel closest to, define your position on religion vs. spirituality, learn about witchcraft, wicca and paganism, meet with witches online or in your city, attend workshops and seminars on spirituality, tarot, and herbalism, acquire knowledge in the history of your craft.
📚 III. Learn: never stop learning, read books from different point of view, understand the intersectionality of witches’ experience, learn about witches from other cultures, understand the link between feminism and witchcraft, record everything you are learning in a journal, and learn from different sources (books, podcasts, online forums, social media, articles, academic papers, documentaries etc).
🦉 IV. Apply knowledge with wisdom: use everything you are learning to make informed decisions about your life, find mentors and experienced witches to learn from, wisdom is acquired through experience so practice your craft, and accept that you will make mistakes, write them down in your journal to remember them and learn from them.
⚖️ V. Achieve balance: embrace opposites, take care of yourself and work hard on your dreams, list your priorities for the coming months and focus on them, maintain a schedule and give yourself peaceful moments during the day, have diverse hobbies that fit into your craft (writing, gardening, crafting, cooking, baking, exercising), balance your time surrounded by people and your time spent alone.
💭 VI. Keep your thoughts in good order: journal your daily life, use tarot and divination as tools to understand yourself, practice setting intentions, use mantras as guidance in your meditation, identify your negative thoughts and practice spells and rituals of banishment for this negative energy, learn breathing exercises to keep your mind connected with the body.
💬 VII. Keep your words in good order: take yourself seriously, be mindful about what you say to yourself and to others, understand the power and bond of a promise, use words as verbalization of your intentions, practice honesty and avoid lying, speak out loud when spell casting.
🎉 VIII. Celebrate life: practice gratefulness by writing daily lists of everything you are grateful for in your life, enjoy daily rituals and the magic of everyday life, plan and organise witches’ sabbats with loved ones, or by yourself, celebrate every accomplishment and every victory.
🌙 IX. Attune with the cycles: learn about the seasonal changes and the witches’ sabbats to acquire a stronger connection to the sun and the earth, celebrate pagan festivals and the Wheel of the Year, practice your magic in connection to the lunar cycle, understand the power of each moon phase, and accept that your energy levels are not always the same, which means that you cannot hold the same expectations on yourself all the time.
🥦 X. Breath and eat correctly: learn yoga, meditation and breathing exercises, practice stretching your body and breathing to expand your muscles, do not diet or restrict but learn to eat healthy while indulging on guilty pleasures sometimes, abstain from regular usage of drugs or alcohol, practice healthy habits.
🤸 XI. Exercise the body: learn to love your body no matter what, and practice self-love by moving it in a way that feels right to you, have walks and hikes in nature, build your strength, learn flexibility exercises, practice cardio to breath better, not to lose weight, switch training exercises regularly, and focus on moving your body everyday.
🧘 XII. Meditate: thrive to meditate at least 10 minutes daily, use mantras to set specific intentions or practice breathing techniques, do not hesitate to use YouTube videos or apps to learn it, meditation is a skill just like anything else, practice for 30 minutes or 1 hour straight at least once a month, join meditation classes or zen temples to get help from a community.
🙏 XIII. Honor your deities: educate yourself on deities you’d like to follow, based on symbolism and what they represent, understand their connection to you and practice rituals to honor them, be mindful of what you ask of them, learn to draw a circle to protect yourself from harmful spirits while calling on them, and if you do not feel comfortable with personified Goddesses and Gods, honor nature deities such as the Moon, the Sun, and the Earth.

Christianity in Heathenry
I’m writing an in-depth analysis about this for a future thing, but I really have to point out how prevalent Christian influences are in American Heathenry. This is especially important if you chose Heathenry as your path away from Christianity.
As a folkloric religion, Heathenry doesn’t have the following:
Dogmas and doctrines
Scripture and holy books
Rules about lifestyle; dressing, tithing, marriage, media consumption, and more
The belief that your lifestyle determines your afterlife
A dualistic worldview: Good vs. Evil, Us vs. Them
You’re probably asking, “If this is true, then why do I see it all the time in Heathenry?” Because Scandinavian pagan cultures don’t inform American Heathenry enough to offset subconscious Protestant influences.
Here’s some common parallels that result from this:
The Eddas = Holy Books
Havamal = Scripture (meaningful for some, but not all)
Innangard vs. Utangard = Us vs. Them
Odin = God, or the good deity to be honored
Loki = Satan, or the bad deity to be feared
Baldr = Jesus
Jotunar = Demons, or evil beings
Valhalla = Heaven, or the desired afterlife
Helheim = Hell, or the undesired afterlife
Ragnarok = Armageddon, or the End Times
Vinland = The Promised Land (also a white nationalist dogwhistle)
Asatru/Vanatru = The Right-Hand Path, orderly and virtuous
Rokkatru/Lokean = The Left-Hand Path, chaotic and rebellious
This look is so familiar to American Heathens that we don’t think to question it. But we need to. Much of Heathenry’s worldview is Animistic, meaning all things are thought to have spiritual presence and agency in the world. We see this in how our gods and spirits represent natural phenomena.
Converting to Heathenry isn’t just a matter of changing gods, but about adopting a different spirituality. So let’s talk about this, my fellow Heathens. How can we make it easier to do this?
AND ANOTHER THING
The idea that your gods “have a plan for you”?
That’s ALSO Christian.
Man I can’t emphasize enough how vital this difference is: The Norse Gods don’t have this nebulous unknown “plan” for you that overrides you own desires, agency, and control over your life.
That’s all yours.
I went to get my blood work today, but instead, I got the price, and had to leave.
I literally might be dying and I can't even find out.
I wasted my gas, it's incredibly hard to drive. I don't sleep, and I'm always in paim. At this point, it's hard to take it anymore and I think about the end
My dad is already diagnosed with full body inclusion myositis and is going to die soon. I can't take the pain of everything that's going on anymore.
Please, if you're willing or wanting to help, my paypal and cash app are both [email protected]
I hate asking for help. It's incredibly humiliating and I feel guilty, but please! If I can at least get diagnosed I can get treated.
So! I found this website called walkinlab and they sell tests for a lot cheaper! I am trying to buy them slowly one by one. Thank you for all of the advice!
I still need about 400usd for all of them, but that is way better than 750 plus!
This is still a thing. I have enough for some of the cheaper tests, but I still have a long way to go, and I still have to see doctors monthly to continue to get meds!
I'm selling crystals, or if you just want to help:

Hello!
chrome extensions for disabilities masterpost
I have seen a lot of posts on here talking about individual extensions for chrome to help people, but I haven’t seen a place where they’re compiled together. So here you are! (If you find anymore, let me know!)
edit: ublock, stylish with lowercase text theme, and No more Tumblr players was added, other extensions masterposts section added, no caps was removed font/text
no caps - Makes everything lower case (found to contain malware)
Stylish: download different themes that can help with accessibility (lowercase text theme can be found here, works like no caps)
Open Dyslexic: changes the font to Open Dyslexic and makes it larger. Personal favourite.
Dyslexie: changes the font to dyslexie and allows change to font size and colour (blue). Can be turned off. (Doesn’t seem to work on facebook)
Font Changer: Allows you to change the font on specific website or on everything using a Google Font. I believe you can also upload your own, if there’s a specific font you need.
BeeLine Reader: Uses a gradient so your eye follows along one line to the next
overlays/colour change
Color Overlay - Irlen Filter for Chromebook: Puts a coloured overlay over the screen. can choose colour and opacity.
Sunglasses: Tints the screen grey to reduce contrast
Desaturate: Removes all colour and makes everything a greyscale
High Contrast: Change contrast or invert colour scheme
Deluminate: Similar to High Contrast, but tries to keep photos in tact
G.lux: Makes the colour of the display change depending on the time of day (also cuts down on blue light so it’s easier to fall asleep)
reduce visual distraction
Readability: Can change things such as margins, colours, etc… as well as reduce visual business
Ad Block Plus: blocks ads. What more needs to be said?
µblock: Similar to Ad Block, but it uses less memory and CPU and doesn’t allow sponsored ads
FlashControl: Stops flash animations running by themselves
Hide GIFS: Allows you to keep GIFS from displaying
Text Mode: Loads pages in black/white, covers images, with text only.
audio
No more tumblr players: disables audio plays on blogs when you’re on them (aka no more autoplay audio)
SpeakIt!: Reads small section of highlighted text aloud
Chrome Speak: Reads small section of highlighted text aloud
Announcify: Reads full web pages. Warning: may stop in the middle of text or not read for the full thing.
