call me a crackpot conspiracy theorist but i dont think its a coincidence that right around the time the us and uk governments were going mask-off transphobic and directly instructing intelligence agencies to treat trans activists as "violent extremists" english speaking social media became flooded w discourse driving a wedge between two of the largest subcomminities of trans ppl, with tons of definitely super real accounts posting shit like "grrr im a trans man and i think whiney feminist trans women should shut their bitch mouths and get back in the kitchen" or "grrrrr i think we should kill all men ESPECIALLY trans men and btw im a totally real trans woman"

im not saying trans ppl are incapable of being transphobic. lots of ppl are assholes and some of those assholes happen to be trans. but if ur constantly focusing on trans ppl like theyre the main driving force of transphobia in society, while cis politicians are actively dismantling our rights, then ur acting like a fed and im gonna treat u like one. we need to stop fighting each other and start fighting together

You know I’m not that big of a fan about how trans men’s experiences are still centered around cis women and that there is a lot of people think that trans men’s experiences are just being “treated like a women” instead of a unique thing that cis women don’t experience at all.

Started thinking about this again because more and more articles about cis women taking T to increase their libido and make their clits bigger are being published. And I think this is the biggest way to show that the way cis women are perceived and how transmasculine people are perceived is radically different.

Even beyond people seeking hormone therapy, pre/no-T transmasculine people are treated differently, just go out and talk to transmasculine people and they will tell you that. I was treated differently than my cis girl peers before I came out, and when I was openly trans but pre-transition I still was treated differently than my cis girl peers.

I will always stand against the idea that trans men are ‘perceived as women’ because time and time again it’s shown we aren’t - when cisgender women do the same things transmasculine people do they are praised for taking agency, while transmasculine people are shamed and called manipulated.

We have more in common with other groups of feminized men then we do with cisgender women. It’s time people start approaching discussions about trans men from the perspective that they are a group of feminized men, instead of treating us like weird cis women.

there’s this term i coined in my friendgroup i call “the charizard effect” and it can apply to anything and everything, but it was born from me explaining my feelings about the pokemon charizard. the term is basically about how overexposure to something be it by corporate shilling or fandom prominence drives me away from really enjoying something bc i’m exposed to it so much against my will i become tired of it. it came to me bc i was ranting about how tpci does not, and cannot stop reinventing charizard, and how it is popular and obtusely included in almost every region, merch, etc in every way possible and it’s highly commodified.

i dont dislike the pokemon charizard, in fact i really like its X form, but i am exposed to so much charizard in my pokemon consumption that i cant be bothered to care for it in any more than in passing. this applies to a bunch of other stuff i’d otherwise be ok with, but i always just call this aversion phenomena “the charizard effect”

So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.
