For today I’m going to give you a peek at my makeup collection and show you my blushes. Some are my first blushes and some are new.
First off let’s talk about the blushes in the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection palette. Don’t these look gorgeous?!
From left to right you have Rosé Spritz, Amaretto, and Pamplemousse. My favourite from these Becca blushes in the Rosé Spritz. The color is beautiful and is has a luminous finish to it. These blushes are PIGMENTED! I dab in once with a dual fiber brush and it does the job!
Next up is a steal of a deal with the BH cosmetics Glamorous Blush Palette.
Half of the blushes have shimmer and the other half are matte. You can tell in the swatches that the shimmer isn’t too crazy, very subtle. There are no names for the shades but the top row is a lighter version of the bottom.
I tend to stay on the left side of the palette wear the more peachy tones are but maybe for fall all venture out to the deeper reds.
These blushes are pretty pigmented as well and are a little powdery but they blend nicely on the cheeks.
Another great blush is the Physicians Formula Argan Wear blush in Natural.
This pinky-peach blush also has a nice sheen to it. It smells great and looks gorgeous. You can also customize your shade by deepening it concentrating your blush in the centre of the pan. I just swirl my blush to get this optimal color.
One of my favourite blushes is the Essence Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll.
This silky soft blush gives my cheeks a rosy color that gives the right amount of pop! On the plus side this was super affordable!
Another affordable blush is the ELF blush in Tickled Pink.
This is a really soft blush that will give you a slight healthy flush to show its beauty. It’s a gorgeous apricot shade that isn’t super pigmented so it’s hard to go clown faced with this blush.
Now into a couple of my first ever blushes. First is the Aziza blush duo.
For a dollar store find these weren’t bad! Good pigmentation and really pretty colors. They are a bit powdery but they go on the cheeks nicely.
Next is a blush duo from The Color Workshop.
These are some pretty deep colors that I only would wear in fall. A light hand on the cheek give the cheeks some warmth.
From my blush color I find myself grabbing and loving the Becca blushes, the Essence babydoll and ELF tickled pink. The colors are pretty similar but they look great! The BH cosmetics and Becca blushes are the ones that will stay on the longest and look great.
What are your favourite blushes? Comment below!

My June wishlist was much to easy to overcome. I ended up getting more things that have been on my general list from my June wishlist. For July I’m stepping it up a notch knowing that it doesn’t take much for an impulse buy to happen.
My wishlist for this month is:
1. ColourPop Lippie Stix and Liquid Lipstick
I keep hearing amazing things about ColourPop and I figure it’s time to try it out and see what the fuss is about! I actually just placed an order this week so I can expect those shortly! So excited! I got the Lippie Stix in Cami, Poppin’, and Barely There, and the Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Scrooge, Lumiere 2, and Clueless.
2. Milani Amore Liquid Lipstick
So apparently this month I’m craving some awesome lipsticks and I’ve also heard great things about the Milani Amore Liquid Lipsticks. I can’t seem to find them in-store in Winnipeg so I’ll have to order them online sometime. I don’t have much for liquid lipsticks so I’m very excited to try these!
3. Mary Lou Manizer
I know this is an oldie but I haven’t been in the loop that long and I have yet to add this to my collection! Who doesn’t love a good highlight?!
4. Color Mascara
So pumped about this trend! I’ve been more adventurous lately and adding a color mascara to the list will up my game! I’m really liking the idea of a gold or pink mascara! Maybe I can snatch one at the drugstore to experiment with before I put big bucks down for something like the YSL vinyl mascara.
5. Face Sunscreen or Moisturizer with board spectrum
This is much-needed for the summer. Currently, for sun protection, I just have a Neutrogena face sunscreen that’s past it’s expiry, a BB cream with SPF I hardly wear and full body spray sunscreen. Having a moisturizer with SPF will safe some hassle and ensure my skin is protected especially in the summer. It would probably be a good idea to get this before my other wishlist items. Protect before play?
6. Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner
I’m hoping to try out the Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner in the damage remedy or color conserve selection. I’m all out of my Wella Professional shampoo and conditioner and the Nexxus hair care I have on hand isn’t matching up. Next time I go in for a hair cut, hopefully next week, I’ll pick up some on my way out.
7. Sun Hat
One other thing I hope to get for time outside in the sun is a sun hat. I have one hat and it’s a white floppy hat that got distorted from getting wet. I need a replacement to protect my eyes and skin! Those are a couple I might look into.
I’m all for trying new things and I can’t wait to get my hands on these items!

July Wishlist My June wishlist was much to easy to overcome. I ended up getting more things that have been on my general list from my June wishlist.
Canada Day Outfit
Here’s the outfit I’m wearing out to the Canada Day festivities here in Winnipeg!
This is literally my only red shirt so my options for holiday spirit were limited. Lol. This sleeveless shirt usually fits very flared out and loose but I altered it today with this hair clip bow I had that just so happened to have a pin and clip on it so I sinched the back and pinned it to a more fitted look.

June Favourites
Here’s just a handful of things that I’ve been loving in June! Some are new finds and some I’ve had for a while!
So first off let’s start with this Gucci Bamboo fragrance. Sephora describes this scent as strong, feminine and elegant. It has notes of Italian Bergamot, Casablanca Lily, Ylang Ylang, and Comoros Sandalwood. It’s a soft fresh scent that I love yet very feminine.
I discovered this…

New Palettes for my Collection
New Palettes for my Collection
YAY the time finally came for me to get the Tartelette in Bloom and Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection palettes! I’ve been eying up a new natural eye shadow palette for a while and as I was browsing through Sephora’s website the Tartelette and Urban Decay Naked palettes caught my eye!
I ended up choosing the Tartelette in Bloom because it has mostly matte shades with a couple pretty shimmer…

I’m sure you can tell from the picture that my closet needs a major cleanup! I went ahead and decided to go through everything and donate things I no longer wear. I also organized my closet by item type and color.
My entire wardrobe is in this closet so it need to stay tidy so avoid getting a little crazy. I don’t have too much compared to a lot of people I know but I like keeping it simple and just having the necessities. That way I can splurge more on cosmetics! lol
I decided to give away anything I haven’t really worn over the past year and anything that no longer suits me. I ended up giving up a bunch of jeans, hoodies and t-shirts that I’ve had since high school and lost interest in. I also cleared out shoes. I’m not much into heels in the first place so most of those went in the giveaway bag. I had some flats that were beyond their wear too.
I ended up with 4 bags of clothing and a bag of shoes! It feels good to give away things others could use more than I do!
I pulled everything out and folded it neater and ordered them by color and style. I have my layering tank tops, leggings and pajamas in the hanging compartments. Socks, underwear and bras in the tier storage with my hoodies on top. I keep my work shirts first in line, then summer wear, long sleeves, cardigans, gym t-shirts, and nicer shirts. Then I have skirts, dress pants, and dresses and miscellaneous items. On the top shelf I have jeans, lounge and sweats, and shorts and skirts.
Here’s a look after I cleaned up!
It feels much better having a tidy closet! Now it’s your turn! Clean out your closet and donate what you can! There’s always someone in need! Plus it feels good to be organized!
How it’s your closet set up? Comment below!

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
When life has you down in a rut, don’t give up. All things happen for a reason. Look to God and be obedient. Don’t doubt that God has a plan and will always show Himself in the world. You just have to recognize Him.

For my hair routine I stick to the basics. I use shampoo, conditioner, a hair mask, hair treatment, hair protectant, dry shampoo and a cheapo brush. Compared to what my hair routine has been in the past, this is pretty intensive. To be honest, I tried dry shampoo for the first time only about a month ago! Where have I been? I know, I know…
Anyways, I little background on my hair. I’ve never really done much with my hair ever for styling and I only used shampoo and conditioner to take care of it. I have pretty fine hair so that might be a shocker that I only washed my hair for so long without any other treatment. About 3 years ago I shaved my head to support a friend with cancer who has now been cancer free for 2 years! So I had a fresh slate to work with. Since then I kept it natural for about a year and then summer came around and I wanted a change so I went red from a box and then to a more reddish-brown.
October last year I decided to go big and get my hair professionally coloured purple. This is when I finally discovered the importance of hair care. For about a month after going purple I had just used Wella Professional Shampoo and Conditioner for Fine to Normal coloured hair. I soon realized my hair needed more than just a special shampoo and conditioner to avoid the frizzy damage from 2 rounds of bleach and then colour from going purple.
I switched salons because I thought the girl who did my purple hair was too rough on it with all her rings on (my head was sore for sure after that). At this new salon I definitely felt I was looked after better. They trimmed and cleaned up my hair with a cut and then let me soak in a hair mask for the first time in my life. I got a bit more educated on hair care for coloured hair and left the salon with a sample of a hair mask and the Aveda Brilliant Damage Control Spray and Revlon Professional uniqONE All-in-One hair treatment.
I usually spray the Revlon uniqONE treatment in my hands and work it into damp hair. It’s a spray pump but the product is thick and creamy so I wouldn’t advice spraying it directly on your hair. It smells like coconuty deliciousness though! This product claims to:
Repair dry, damaged hair
Control shine and frizz
Protect from heat
Give silkiness and smoothness
Protect hair colour with UVA/UVB filters
Ease brushing and ironing
Detangle
Create a long-lasting hairstyle
Prevent split ends
Add body
After using this product for a good 6 months I can say that the claims hold true! Try it for yourself and see!
The Aveda Damage Control is a light spray that I’ll spray over my hair after I use the Revlon treatment. This Aveda spray also smells so good like camomile! It is supposed to help protect from thermal and UV damage and reduce breakage for all hair types. I say it delivers it’s claims! Love this stuff!
I washed my hair less often and regularly used both these products in my hair when damp. Once I apply both of these products I’ll gently detangle and comb my hair.
Then a haircut later I found a hair mask at the drugstore. I believe it was a Fekkai PrX Reparatives Intense Fortifying Hair Mask. Once that was out I invested in the Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Mask. I would use this pretty much every time I washed my hair which was about every 2-4 days. I swear hair masks saved my breaking, frizzy mess.
This hair mask is supposed to rebuild hair’s strength and restore elasticity. I absolutely love the way my hair feels after I use this mask! I can definitely notice less breakage and a stronger feel to my hair after using this. I hear really great things about the entire Moroccan Oil brand! Give it a go and invest in this great brand!
I also find that sleeping with damp hair instead of air drying throughout the day prevents frizziness and helps lock in moisture.
Since I only wash my hair about every 2-4 days I finally discovered dry shampoo to help with greasy hair. I heard all good things about the Batiste dry shampoos so I gave it a go and I’m loving with new addition to my hair care.
This dry shampoo is supposed to revitalize hair and remove excessive oil to feel fresh and add body and texture.
Well let me tell you this stuff was a game changer. I could freely wear my hair down on day 3 of no hair washing. No need for ponytails when you use this stuff! Just make sure you really work it in and brush through your hair so you don’t have white hair patches.
So that’s my hair care routine! Let me you if you use any of these products and how you like them or if there’s anything you think I should try! I am running low of most of this products already!
Stay tuned for a throw back to my hairstyles over the past 10 years or so and follow!

My Hair Routine For my hair routine I stick to the basics. I use shampoo, conditioner, a hair mask, hair treatment, hair protectant, dry shampoo and a cheapo brush.
For a bold summer look I created a neutral, bronzy eye and topped it off with a red lip. To see what I used to create this look please keep reading. Today was one of those days that even color correcting couldn’t hide my tired eyes. So let’s all just ignore the fact that I’m practically a glammed up zombie.
For the my face base I primed with Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Primer. I corrected my under eyes with the bottom left peach color in the NYX color correcting concealer palette and then topped it with My Maybelline Fit Me concealer. For foundation I mixed my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 115 Ivory and Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude in 06 Warm Sunbeige. I blended in my concealer and foundation using a Quo blending sponge. I set my under eyes with Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder in 120 Classic Ivory.
Continuing on the face I used Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer to warm up the my face along the hairline, cheeks, and under my chin. Then I used Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer to sculpt my cheekbones and contour my nose. I used ELF tickle me pink blush on my cheeks and added some glow with Physician’s Formula Warm Nude Shimmer Brick palette on the high points of my cheeks and on my nose and cupid’s bow.
Moving onto the eyebrows, I used NYX Scuplt and Highlight in Cream/Brunette. Using just brunette I filled in my brows and then I used the Essence lash and brow gel mascara to set my brows in place.
Onto the eyes, I used my Clinique eye shadows. As a base I used Angelfood all over my lid and crease. Then I layered the matte shades in the Chocolate Kiss duo in my crease. To define the outer corner I used the darker shade in my Morning Java duo. The golden shade I used over my lid. I blended when to prevent harsh lines. I used the white soft shimmer shade to highlight my brow bone and inner corner.
To really change this into a bold look I lined my upper lash line with Marc Jacobs highliner and then created a wing with Hard Candy Stroke of Gorgeous felt tip liner. I used Gosh Velvet touch liner on my lower lash line in Truely Brown and blended in the colors from morning java on my lower lash line.
I used my Clinique High Impact Mascara on my upper lashes and Gosh Catchy Eyes mascara on my lower lashes.
Then I put on my Clinique Matte Crimson lipstick to bring this look together.
Then to make it last I used the Maybelline Master Fix Setting Spray.
