I mentioned this to my mother the other day, that i dont think he even did it, and she pulled a "wtf" face and was like "how did you come to that conclusion" so I laid out the various things that don't add up and the glaring procedural fuck ups and the targetted campaign to make everyone think he's guilty.

At one point she goes "ok, but hold on - if he didnt do it then why did he confess?" She was FLOORED when I told her that he hadn't. That he has maintained his innocence since the start.

And this is my mother, who is usually across this kind of thing. She had no idea about the missing bodycam footage that happens to align with the time they took his backpack out of sight before bringing it back and opening it for the """"""first""""" time and finding the supposed evidence inside.

She straight up thought that HE was the one who called himself in. Thought he'd gone to Macca's for a last burger then called the cops on himself and confessed. When she learned that wasnt true, she was SHOCKED.

Keep talking to people about this. Keep reiterating that they havent found him guilty of anything yet, and that they've breached his rights in several different ways since arresting him, and that he and the UHC shooter are almost certainly different people.

Too many people think that he confessed. Too many think that he's guilty, when the odds are good that he VERY MUCH IS NOT.

Lady Layton confirmed for 2017 global release, details, subbed trailer

Level-5 have confirmed that Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy will see global release in 2017! From their PR: 

As one of LEVEL-5’s masterpieces, the PROFESSOR LAYTON series of puzzle adventure games has sold more than 15.5 million units worldwide to date. Its newest official sequel, Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy — available on Nintendo 3DS/Android/iOS — was announced to be released in Spring 2017 in Japan. Not only will the main character switch from ‘Professor Layton’ (Hershel Layton) to ‘Kat’ (Katrielle Layton), many of its characters will be brand new. The story will focus less on dynamic problem-solving and more on solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners, which will bring a faster tempo and more comical tone to the series. It will be more familiar — and funnier — than ever, while maintaining an adventurous quality. The creators of the puzzles and brain-teasers, the core element of the series, will also be new. Please look forward to the new PROFESSOR LAYTON series, targeting a Western release in 2017.

Lady Layton announced (3DS/Android/iOS, 2017)

This isn’t technically a Layton site, but hey, it’s got a certain connection to AA, wouldn’t you agree?

Tonight, Level-5 announced the latest main Layton game: Lady Layton: The Millionaire King Ariadne’s Plot! (Try not to read too much into the “King” part, this is a literal translation and Ariadne is a girl’s name, so we don’t know yet who this refers to.)

The game focuses on Layton’s daughter, Catoleil Layton (romanization to be confirmed) and sees a return to the adventure-and-puzzle style of the original series.

The game will be released in Japan in spring of next year, available not only on 3DS but also iOS and Android devices.  A localization is yet to be announced, but Level-5 trademarked “Lady Layton” in Europe recently.
