I feel like people just don't have best friends that often anymore because if you have had one since childhood and grown together etc. then what max and lando have is like normal there's no other way to be best friends lmao. I have two and basically the only reason we don't buy houses all on the same street and go abroad every other week is because we are poor. Instead we have keys to each other's places and we go cinema every other day or just do nothing together

i reckon partially yeah, unless you’ve grown up with someone that level of easy comfort seems more significant. i think though (and i’m not fully up on their pre-woking lore so the real lore knowers like @landonorissian might have a better idea) they had a period where they weren’t as close bc of different series commitments and then came back together almost when max left racing and they moved in together? also much as that relaxed in and out of each other’s house life is natural when you’re living a “normal life” (and that’s how i grew up with my best friend) i do think it’s just different in f1, bobbing around the world every two minutes and being generally Available when the other half’s so tightly scheduled. it’s making a choice with your friend and your joint careers in mind? but ikwym
