I know that I had somewhat unusually comprehensive sex ed but it still surprises me every time I'm reminded that some people genuinely think that losing your virginity is a capri sun kind of situation.

Finished reading LLD last night and it completely rewired my brain chemistry. Been a big fan of your works for a while now (started way way back when I first read To Be Well, and i fell in love with your original works like LLD and Dangerous Savior) and its just soooooo peak. Im obsessed with these two. If you do ever sell it on Amazon I WILL buy a physical copy.

Yay I love to hear that it rewired your brain!!! I'm so glad you liked it!! It's such a long and weird story and honestly the journey from point A to point B was something that even made me sit back and look at and go "HUH?? How the fuck did we get here??" when I finished it. But I feel like anyone who read To Be Well probably wasn't too surprised by the journey because my taste in romance is pretty obvious at this point. I'm about to start formatting it for ebook and print right after I finish typing this 🤢 wish me luck. The ebook is a bit trickier than normal because I have to go in and make all the text message conversations look like real text message windows (because apparently that is a thing in books now). And for the print book I have to figure out how to format it to make it not too many pages to be printed in paperback. I'm gonna try my hardest to get a paperback available somewhere so anyone who wants it can have it. (And also because I'd like to personally do a celebratory cathartic chopping of the book to bits for fun.)

Laughed so stupidly giddy when I checked my little library and it had an obviously indie published romance novel in it. First time I've seen one in there since I built the library.

Just cool to see someone buying an indie book in paperback at all. And also it's 810 pages so it gives me hope that Love Like Drowning won't be too thick to print in paperback (there's a page limit for various services).

That's actually hilarious that you found it organically. The tags on ao3 move so fast I figured almost no one would find it via tags especially an original story. Also apologies that the dacryphilia to wordcount ratio is probably not ideal. If it was written from Sinclair's pov it would have been much more prevalent. That man was having insane thoughts whenever Gregory started crying (which was like all the time). From Gregory's pov it was more like "these characters are crying in bed all the time and Gregory isn't having a thought in his damn head about it except oh he's kissing my wet face and licking the saline from his lips again".

Also re: psychiatric care... The concept of consent as being integral to ethical mental health care is a nice one, but in practice RIGHT NOW consent is meaningless in a system where "being noncompliant" in and of itself is medicalized and ""care providers"" do things like tell you if you refuse to sign on your intake form that it is a consensual hospitalization, or refuse to take the antipsychotic they try to force on you, they will simply take you to court & have you declared mentally incompetent.

Both of these things happened to me during my last hospitalization.

So you will have to forgive psychiatric abuse victims for not instantly agreeing that your improved community care program ideas where social workers or whomever are the ones responding to calls about people "behaving erratically" are great bc you say "everything will be consensual, of course".

My medical records list almost all of my medical abuse as consensual.
