alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

complimented a cashier on her turtle pin this morning and she said "oh thanks, I am a little bit of a Turtle Person" with the carefully contained energy of Cookie Monster telling you he's mildly fond of chocolate chips
I hope she and the multiple tons of turtle merch she definitely has at home are having a wonderful day
i love this metaphor so much i drew it
(smugly) actually all narration is unreliable because language can only ever communicate through approximation
This picture is so holy and gentle to me
Judas is always portrayed as a heartless betrayer when he is used as symbolism in stories, but i wonder how many people didn't know that he committed suicide out of guilt
Yeah, people were hunting for jesus and he ratted him out for money. He hung himself. In the same passage it is said that he returned the money too
I feel like this is an underutilized detail
There is a fascinating and tragic interpretation of the figure of Judas as a victim of the "divine plan" that required Jesus' sacrifice to take place in order to prove, via his resurrection, his divine status. The idea is that the events that lead to the crucifixion need to be set off by an act of betrayal, and that when Jesus during the last supper tells his disciples "one of you will betray me", and indicates that the one who dipped his bread in his same bowl (Judas) is the one who will do it, he's not foretelling an already established future, but rather asking Judas to be the traitor that he needs to help him fullfill his final task. And that would be the meaning (or at least one of the meanings) of the words he says when Judas kisses him in the Getsemani: "Friend, that's why you are here".
I just think desolation avatar jon would be neat, y'know

It is love, but what type of love?

imo the state monitoring your private messages is basically on the same level as opening and reading physical mail or perhaps breaking into your house to install bugs and cameras
it's way worse, actually. because traditionally wiretapping and opening letters means like. the state decides that "okay this person is a suspect, we should start monitoring their phone calls and letters now while we're investigating them." what a state backdoor on encryption as suggested by chat control and the like would mean is instead "okay this person is a suspect, let's retroactively search through every conversation they've ever had." it would mean the state has access to information from before the law even went into effect. and on a technological level this could happen to anyone, at any time. i cannot stress enough how massive this overreach is.
