Let’s learn about a rare disease: Myasthenia Gravis.
It is an autoimmune disorder that causes hell on earth for those inflicted. Symptoms include muscle weakness, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing, and double vision.
Dr. Jon Lindstrom of the University of Pennsylvania has made strides in making a very specific treatment with fewer side effects and greater efficacy than what is currently available. His treatment consists of once-a-week treatments for six weeks and would prevent symptoms for 6 months.
Anyone affected by MG would tell you that if they could get any semblance of normal function back in their life it would be nothing short of a miracle.
Right now funding is short and comes from small donors.
