I desperately need trans people whose only engagement with other trans people comes from Tumblr to understand that yes, actually, the shitty people on this website are a vocal minority because so many trans people — ESPECIALLY trans people over the age of 30 — ARE SIMPLY NOT ON TUMBLR DOT COM AND ARE NOT ENGAGING WITH ANY OF THIS PERPETUALLY ONLINE RAGE BAIT!!!!!!

I can't even count the number of times I have explained this discourse to other trans people who are not on Tumblr or not online really at all and they've gone "Oh. that's stupid. we're supposed to be a unified community, that sounds like unnecessary division".

You're on the mentally ill inflammatory queer young person website. I promise there's more to the trans community than a bunch of people who are predominantly under 30 yelling at each other all the time. You are experiencing the minority. It just seems bigger than it is because you're in a space where it is concentrated.

Not even over the age of forty. In terms of geo location, the harder the trans people have it, the more united they are (I say this not out of malice, but genuine belief. I live in an conservative African country - we don't do that here)
