I'm not particularly knowledgeable about auxillary conlangs like esperanto or LFN, I just kinda passively think they're not very useful (as evidenced in my mind by them not being used very much). Like I understand people's distaste of english's position language of international communication, there are a lot of trenchant critiques to be made of it, but I just don't think "make up a language based on a DIFFERENT european language(s) (which has it's own history of colonial exploitation) that no one but passionate true believers and hobbyists is going to speak" is the way to go about it?

The one auxillary conlang I can actually speak to the uselessness of is interslavic. I know 3 separate slavic languages, so I can read it pretty well, but I still can't understand it being spoken. Every single slavic person I've ever asked who speaks only one slavic language cannot read it. The languages it's meant to be an intermediary for use two completely different alphabets, and even within the same alphabet the same letter will often make a different sound in different languages. Maybe just learn english at that point? You'll be able to speak to way more people with it!
