Riz Gukgak, Brian Murphy's character from the first season of Dimension 20, Fantasy High (sub to Dropout if you know what’s good for you.)

A- Grade

We think this is an official character art, if it’s not ping me and we’ll find and credit who’s this is, but we’re going off this one because it seems to be the more common appearance for Riz. We like this one! We’re drawn to the ears, we’ve stated many times that wider ears are better than longer ears, like a bat but not so pronounced. The tone here is nice too, a very classic green bordering on mint (#AFD489.) The hair is super regular, detracts some points for us but the color used here is nice as well, the pigmentation of the skin would affect the pigment of the hair so this is an interesting and not often seen choice. Nice work, good choices, especially with the fashion: maintains some of the goblin feel without losing the setting and theme of Fantasy High - keeps the personality, and keeps his personality. Lovey fellow, a good guy. Deserves better. Not too much to say, but not too much needs to be said - damn good goblin.

It’s always a little surreal to see artists you love make art that fits exactly your niche, ya know? With that, we’re happy to bring to you this delightful fiend, Pissnog. Big fan! We love the ears; the positioning, the size, lovely, just lovely. The face altogether, great stuff - love the fangs, very cute, and the eyes are splendid. Overall, we’re getting a little bit of a Grinch feel - the jagged grin, the fingers, that iconic pea soup taupe (9FA84E,) but this goblin is anything but a mean one! Let’s talk fit - it’s sporting a lustrous, radiant orange - you need to drink so much more water if you’re seeing this color - cozy is exactly where you wanna be when you’re getting your mouth loaded and thirst quenched beneath the pissletoe this Pissmas, and Pissnog is capitol C and Z CoZy. As always with profile shots, we’d love to see the full guy - but just thinking realistically, the proportions are likely preem all the way down. A- Grade!

This one? Huge fan. We’re crazy about the eyes, we kill for an irregular pupil. The ears are really doing it, the length, the simplicity - the simplicity of it all, really, while still really capturing a lot of character, says a lot for a whim-made no named nobody goblin like this. The proportions are throwing us a little - we like the big hands but the short arms set them back a little - the fangs are very cute but the neck is sending us. Love the color, such a range used for the depth and shading, love the subdued mint (64D78D) majority it has though. The fashion is our last bullet, but far from a killing blow; keeping ti’s theme of simplicity, it has a pretty minimal fashion sense. We like the spear (the wood detail? On god?) and the wrist wraps, but more would be appreciated - seems like maybe in the shadowy bit we have what’s to assume as a loincloth and a travel pouch, but it’s just not much. Overall? Big Fan! Go check out N8’s other work, though - talented eye and an apt hand.

As suggested by @imonlyherebecauseofthisbandilike, I bring you Grolokk, from Grolokk ( a game for adults, be careful out there, gamers)

B+ grade

We don’t mind this too much - it’s a nice design. Grolokk kindof reminds us of Neo Cortez, with the one bulging eye and the horrendous posture. That aside, the proportions are fine; long arms are always a hit for us, but I’d maybe like to see the fingers reflect that as well, his hands are pretty normal for the length of the arms. The shade of green is a pretty fern tone (5B6B49) and that’s pleasant to the eye. The fashion is more on the miss end, but I don’t hate it - the head piece makes me think a little of like an old cartoony executioner. He’s also hung as hell, you’ll have to take my word for that though.

Don’t let the grade discourage you! Cucumbers are good for you; great for hydration, high in fiber, they do wonders for your skin, and they’re delicious! Straight up gherkin it!

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank @gobgreenlin for the opportunity to write these grades for you all. I had fun with these and tried to keep them light. I’ve been in a writing funk, so having something to drag myself to the keyboard for has been good. I also think I’m gonna get rid of the idea of structured scheduled posting. I’m gonna try to keep them coming but I’m not holding myself to a routine anymore. I’ve got a long backlog to flush through, and then after that I’m just gonna write them as they come to me or when they’re given to me, I’m hoping that keeps me more engaged and enthusiastic. In fear of wrongful absolution, I am forgoing a letter grade for this one

Depictions of Maglubiyet are far and few between, in itself it is a little sacrilegious to depict such a holy entity, to confine it to a single form. For reference purpose, purly, I have included the depiction as used in the first edition of Dungeons and Dragons, where he see the looming figure (what’s up with those TOES, man! The knees! Wowie!!) presented in what we commonly use in reference, the battle axe. Take a moment today to reflect on how your works and words may honor Maglubiyet.

Day 28 of Gobust - Goooold…I love goooooooold! Remember that? Anyways, I’ve brought Gold Goblin, from Spider-Man, the Dark Web series.

D+ Grade

White guy, but we’ll talk about him - sorry in advance if this becomes another long winded Spider-Man post, I have no restraint. I gave this short series a run, it’s only five issues. I’m not especially plugged in with Spider-Man as of late, so I’m…lost? What’s Sin-Eaters deal? What are the logistics of “freeing someone from sin?” I mean, people still remember that Norman was the Green Goblin, and the crimes tied to him, even Peter states that he still doesn't trust him - what did Sin-Eater even do? The “sin” he removes he’s able to remanifest and use to turn Doctor Kafka…so…sin is…a resource? An energy? It was fun to see Norman playing the hero, and genuinely wanting to turn over a new leaf - but this series ultimately turns into “You can’t run from your past” and he doesn’t actually get a shot at absolution. What. Does Sin-Eater. Do. Does he go on live television and say “Norman Osborn is no longer evil, I’ve absolved him of his crimes” I don’t get it, I’m sure I’m missing important context.

Todays Gobust is Cryptid, so I’m finally grading the Hopkinsville and Hellier goblins

C+ and D- Grades

How come Kentucky got two goblin cryptids and nowhere else got any? We’ll start with Hopkinsville (or Kelly, depending on who you ask.) They’re a modest cross between a frog and an owl visually, I feel. Both of these get chalked up as aliens more then anything, but they’ve been boldly stamped with the goblin name so here we are. The coloration is usually noted as a stealy grey, a fun alternative to the common greys. I like how widely set the eyes are, and the ears are interesting; sharply on the sides of the head and straight up with not much depth.

Hellier is a little tricky, most of the information people, and most people’s point of reference is the docuseries - I don’t have 17 hours available to plunder though a documentary that ultimately ends with “what do you think?” I am however going off of the little meat guy on the cover of said docu - he’s also an interpretation of the common grey, but again with a prominent ear point! He makes me think of the vile creature Vinny keeps. From what I’m seeing, the Hellier and Hop might even be the same goblin - this is an interesting case where you see multiple reports from similar time frames that are close enough to find the need for an investigation - how could people have see the same goblin on either sides of Kentucky around the same time and not have it looked into. Interesting nonetheless!

In honor of Pizza Tower’s console release, I’m proud to finally grade the goblins that plague Peppino! There are a few, and they’re a little…let's say, conceptual, so let’s start that clock and get this one done in 30 minutes or less! Without further ado I present to you the Goblins of Pizza Tower

Pepperoni Goblin and Goblin Bats

C+ and B- Grades

The stark colors are a running theme, and these two take the cake of our handful today with those flat purple and red colors. The ears are nice, I like the teeth and noses, the proportions are fine. I like the eyes!

Pizza Box Goblins and the Goblin Captain

A and A- Grades

These are fine little guys, I don’t love the captain as much but we’ll get to him in a second. They’re so grumpy!! The proportions are a little wack since they do have pizza boxes for their main body, but I do like them overall. The green is similarly stark, a real down the middle green (hex#60D048.) The Captain, he’s fine. He has a few unused animations, the one in the main photo is his final model. But we take what we can get here - I don’t hate the drip! Commands the crew with an iron canon!

The Noise Goblin

A+ Grade!

No WAY am I avoiding this one, have you SEEN him? All the charm and malice of The Noise in a goblin state, let's fucking go gamers. Excellent proportions, excellent tone, wonderfil features, extravagant gameplay, it’s a good damn goblin.

ON TIME Gobust post for day 24 - raider. I have an old boy - the 1998 Goblin Raider from MTG, illustrated by Greg Staples

B Grade!

I like this one a lot, I really wish I had a full portrait (Greg, if you have one I’m happy to reconsider.) I like the ears, they’re very prominent, with the helmet it almost has a samurai fele to the baalcne of the ears. That’s really something.I like the choice for the full plate mail, it’s a nice change of pace to have a fully armored goblin. The color is a little hard to parse, we’re fighting against a bit of a color wash, but I’m gonna place it around a pasty pine (hex#ADA07F.) A nice guy, I like the face!

Another LATE Gobust 23rd post, yesterdays was Ring, so…This is a stretch, and I am sorry - it is Alexander, from Elden Ring. Remember when the first trailers dropped? Everyone was calling the living pots “Pot Goblins.”

Anyway, F Grade

He’s a Living Pot, not a goblin at all. Just an all around very good guy, Alexander is.We love our F Grade guy! But he is not a goblin, nowhere in any official source are the living pots referred to as such. If they WERE, though…hm…C-, maybe D+, for proportions.
