As an Indigenous person, millitant vegans drive me nuts, especially in their trying to stop seal hunts/whaling up north. Like, okay, I just wanna lock one of these fuckers in a freezer with a 20$ bill, a cell phone with no signal, and a piece of seal meat and see how long they last. And the soonest they can get a head of lettuce is 6 weeks from now, for 38$.
I've legit seen the argument that indigenous people in the far north should go to growing crops and i'm like
how
On the fucking ice?????
Point to where in this image people are supposed to grow things, kthx
I eat mostly plant-based, if you're vegan your qualm should be with factory farming, not a community of people surviving with what they got. How entitled to think that they treat feeding their people is in any way shape or form similar to the average person buying animal products in a grocery store. They hunt what they need, and they use all parts of the animal they can. Their children understand that this is an animal on their plate. Most vegans do not get brought up vegan, tell me more about how kids eating overly produced Dino nuggies bc it was convenient for the parent is the same as Indigenous families eating seal/whale/whatever they want. What part of which animal is in the Dino nuggie?
Amazed at how many people are completely out of touch with food, and the environment, and not everyone having your exact experience and means. How bizarre.
