Yet again, I made a thing and forgot to post it.
"Thank goodness... the red string didn't break. I really found you!"

WHO THE FUCK IS HUA CHENG???
Select Illustrations for Paper Memories (Part 2) (1/3)
Just realized I never posted any compilations of art from Part Two. So here's the first arc. In the end I didn't stick with this art style but it is what it is haha. The holes and rips do in fact have to do with the memory loss. Poor Wind Master is like the only one unaffected lmao.
Die! Just die! If you canโt die, then just dig a hole somewhere and pretend to be dead!
Finally drawing Hualian again after 4 years, I just had to pull up one of my old drawings for comparison.
All roads lead back to them... Iโm planning on bringing these new designs to my Etsy! including the sticker, alongside some more mxtx fanart in the future. Thanks all :3
My commissioned Wulian piece โค๏ธ Itโs for the fic โthe inherent eroticism of ear piercingsโ. I love it! ๐ญ

Okay, so... this is one of my favourite scenes in the donghua, and on a rewatch with wulian on the brain, I couldn't help thinking: WHAT IF, that long, wistful look in Xie Lian's face is not just the usual yearning, but because that moment reminded him of someone? (By the way, I discovered later that the song that plays in this scene is called "recollections of old dreams (ๅฟๆงๆขฆ)"๐ญ)

Heard a remixed version of the song today & this is what popped into my head. Is this a reverse rick roll?
Wu Ming
Calamity Xie Lian
We don't talk enough about how Wuming knew what was actually happening during the brief calamity arc.
Wuming saw it all as a ghost flame, not just the torment and torture, but also saw BWX hug Xie Lian after a loved one betrayed him, heard BWX's offers to be a mentor and his promise that he was the only person who would be by Xie Lian's side. So what do you think went through Wuming's head when he saw XL using the same mask as the calamity and wielding the same sword that man used to torture him?
Xie Lian was not just reacting to the suffering. There was a powerful person with the clear intention of manipulating him and Wuming knew this. This is why I don't see the wuming era as just HC being a simp and following Xie Lian Even if he's evil. It's more so trying to do your best to help a loved one whose behavior is being influenced by a malicious actor, like in an abusive relationship or a cult.
Wuming repeatedly addressing Xie Lian as โYour Highnessโ despite being ordered not to and threatened with dispersal if he continued wasnโt because he was just โforgettingโ to change the address (or whatever people who claim that Wuming โonly followed orders to a tโ explain that away as). Wuming was actively reminding Xie Lian about who he was, a crown prince who attempted to save his own people, a god worthy of worship, which is why Xie Lianโwho didnโt want to be reminded of his former statusโwas so angry at the title. He thought he was being mocked for his failure, not being addressed as someone worthy of it.
