Full-time ice cream truck driver Hua Cheng, twenty-something, is put on a new sales route for the summer, much to his annoyance. Instead of the hipster neighborhood he used to serve before, he now spends his Mondays circling a sleeping suburb and selling ice cream in megapacks to families. By the end of the second week his brain is fried with the obnoxious theme song he needs to honk out to announce he’s there because—the kids.
One day Hua Cheng’s life takes a turn for the better when the most beautiful man he’s ever seen comes to his truck in flipflops and a weird white summer outfit including a ridiculous straw hat, offering him a warm smile and intent on buying their bestseller, the silly minty Minecraft ice cream for his toddler.
Hua Cheng’s heart gives a few terribly embarrassing thumps and he instantly decides to bribe the kid with so many stickers and water tattoos that the pretty dilf will continue smiling at him.
And he does. That's it for his heart.
They start talking, ruining Hua Cheng’s schedule, and Hua Cheng discovers the man, Xie Lian, has adopted the kid. Phew! No wife at home! No special someone!
He makes it his mission to seduce his ice-cream sweet sugar gege, doing his absolute best to meet him with a blob of creamy ice cream dangling from his mouth on one Monday, licking and sucking on a nicely sized popsicle on another. The third Monday finds him stroking the shaft of a push-up pop, grinning at Xie Lian innocently.
It’s against the company rules of course, because he’s not supposed to sample the goods for free. But who fucking cares because it’s worth it: Xie Lian turns so red he can barely function, steam coming out of his ears, stammering. Hua Cheng amps up his efforts, showering Guzi the kid relentlessly with stickers and other freebies.
In the end it pays off because one Monday, six weeks into Hua Cheng’s torment, Xie Lian abruptly pushes a bill into his hand instead of using his card and there’s his phone number written with a bright kids’ marker.
Hua Cheng frames the bill and hangs it on his wall, and it doesn’t matter he needs to pay for Xie Lian’s ice creams that day.
At the end of the season, they get a babysitter for Guzi and Hua Cheng finally gets to give Xie Lian, 10 years his senior and a virgin, a thorough sampling of goods and put his popsicle-licking skills that he’s honed to perfection that summer into good use.
They eat ice cream megapacks happily every after.
