I first saw mention of the Khan Academy while reading a post by Brad Evans, who sifts through 50 educational technology tools. When I saw the Khan Academy on there and read his description of it—a collection of over 3,500 videos that teach students many topics across the science and math disciplines—I thought, “Wow, I wish I would have had this when I was a student!” I was never good at science and these videos would have definitely helped.
The Khan Academy is, quite simply, a non-profit company whose mission is to create a bank of educational videos, specifically in the math and science realms, in order to teach, challenge, and assess students. Coaches, teachers, and parents are able to see what their students are learning and how they’re doing. How many of your students have a tough time with math, science, or both?
