After more than a year of developing the script, shooting and editing the film… I humbly present “The Fleeting Little Life of Peter Wright”. My god I still lived in London when we made this. It truly is a pleasure to finally share it with you :) Please share and like if you enjoy it!
An incredibly well made thought provoking short film on the subject of suicide and life in general.
In addition to essentially inventing the computer, Alan Turing also broke the German Enigma Code during World War II which paved the way for the D-Day invasion. The man was a hyper-genius. I’ve read descriptions of his work by mathematical physicist Sir Roger Penrose. He’s been a hero of mine ever since.
The level of thought required to come up with the stuff he came up with is totally beyond my comprehension. I actually did not even know about his orientation until much later. He was prosecuted and ordered to undergo chemical castration. Soon thereafter, he committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple.
The government forced him to take estrogen as a punishment (or “cure”?). He began to develop breasts and other side effects.

Hmmm, I wonder if that’s true about Apple.
If you take a look at the first apple logo it is a picture of newton sitting under a tree. Supposedly, that was the inspiration for the name.

Rabbi Wosner began the meeting stating that "recently an epidemic has taken hold deep within the community, whereby even respectable men from the Haredi community are going out at night to dubious and problematic places, which are hostile to the spirit of chachamim (a Talmudic reference to filthy places)."He went on: "The phenomenon is becoming more and more widespread, and we have to put an end to this".A participate at the meeting said to Kikar Ha'Shabas: "Everyone at the meeting understood that Rabbis Wosner was talking about young men who go out to pubs, betting casinos or even worse."Rabbi Wosner asked for volunteers to work for his new specialised Mishmeres Ha'tznius, and "follow these partygoers - who slip out late at night to satisfy their dark desires - and expose them publicly. Only then will this phenomenon end". Rabbi Wosner went on to say that when he live in Bnei Brak, he established a similar secretive volunteer committee and it was very effective. "We disguised ourselves, dressed in different clothing, and followed after rebellious offenders." He stressed that he wants to set up a similar body in London. "Let's expose the faces of these transgressors, I ask that you donate your time for this important mission and take upon yourselves to patrol/spy at night between the hours of 11pm and 2am". A participant at the meeting also informed Kikar Ha'Shabas, that there was further discussion to create a detailed map of the problematic areas and streets [which need to be patrolled].

Sadly this is very true. I still live at home but my relationship with my parents and siblings has gone to shit. It more or less only exists because we live in the same house. If I spend any amount of time in the same room as my siblings it always ends in a fight. And while my family wont talk with me about my reasoning for rejecting religion (barring shouting at me for not keeping it) saying they don't want to hear these things, that hasn't stopped them getting "professionals" to talk to me about it. They cant bare the thought of me living my life a different way; a way that makes me happy.

I don't have questions, I have answers.

This is my answer to anyone who say anything along the lines of this. "oh you should speak to 'this and this rabbi', he can totally answer your questions."
I always ask these people, "Doesn't it bother you that you don't know yourself, what the reasons are for doing almost everything that you do? Even if this rabbi/religious figure can explain [and give evidence for] your religion, which they never can, why don't you know yourself? You practice it, why don't you know why?"
Ugh! just spoke to my uncle, he's part of a kiruv organisation and I'm now his 'project'. I know he means good but UGH!
What really got me annoyed was his parting words, "[Don't worry] We'll get through this together" as if I'm I'll or something. I was about to ask him "Get through what? I don't have any problems with my beliefs, You do"
He seems to think that because I was never very good/never liked kodesh (jewish studies {literally: Holy}) that my non belief in god is an emotional problem that can never be answered by intellect because I don't want it to be true. I agree that my disinterest in learning gemara (Talmud) may have spurred me on to find what I actually like to learn and in the process I started to think critically about my life up to that point, but as I pointed out to him, its irrelevant, as even though emotions may have influenced me, my arguments were based on intellect. And every time I tried to bring up a intellectual argument he made some excuse and wouldn't debate me on intellectual arguments except for pointing out the mass revelation argument and then refusing to talk/debate it.
