i LOVED tvl personally. it is exactly what i expected from the show but also not…and that makes it so exciting. i think a large part of why loads of people are upset is because they’re afraid of sympathizing with these incontrovertibly awful characters, but hasn’t that been the whole point of the show?

i think we’re given a harsh reality check about louis the poet and claudia the saint, and i think that makes it so much more enticing as a show. all of them have done inhumane things, they arent human!! that’s the point!! their vampirism makes them irredeemable to human being, that’s the darkness of the gift!

everyone seems to be upset about the seance scene but i think it was executed brilliantly. louis was kicked off his horse of humanity he cherry picks when to wield. lestat was ignored, which is his version of being punched in the face, claudia was given her voice and her voice is angry. i dont understand why anyone expected her to find peace, she was built in anger and that’s her tragedy.

the whole show is a tragedy, not one person is ever happy that’s literally the appeal. none of the characters have ever gotten closure about anything, their entire species is doomed to endure in deep loneliness so it would have been more out of character to have claudia be some kind of angel at the end

i know this means absolutely nothing to most people but basically all of the little web game things I've made recently (angels in automata, hex plant growing game, d.a.n.m.a.k.u., life music, sudoku land, the metroidvania style map editor, etc etc etc) are all entirely self-contained individual client-side html files that can be downloaded and run offline and have literally no libraries or frameworks or dependencies, because i'm an insane woman who enjoys hand coding my input handling and display code from scratch in vanilla js and having it all live in one single html file with the game logic and the page structure and the page style all just living and loving together side by side in a universal format that can be run by any web browser on any devixe. i'll even include image files as base64 data-uri strings just to keep every single asset inside the one file.

as i’m rereading the harry potter books, i’m just more convinced that fanon sirius is actually just canon sirius. nowhere in the books is he hyper-masculine or toxicly aggressive. he’s such a clear case of arrested development. sure, he’s temperamental but he’s genuinely a very kind person. from going above and beyond to be close to harry during the triwizard tournament, to taking the time to constantly wish the best for ron and hermione in his letters to harry, to being the only adult who soothed harry just by his presence. all this to say i love canon sirius, he’s not as different from fanon sirius as people make him out to be
