a 42-year-old mother of 2 using the wrong combination of 7 words during a heated conversation with a call center employee at a health insurance company who was in the process of denying her health coverage.

things that are not terrorism:

mass shooting in a Black church to incite a race war

going to a BLM protest specifically to kill protestors

a neo-nazi running over a crowd of people, killing a woman

targeting and killing 23 latinos in an el paso, texas walmart

killing 12 people in a theatre, shooting 58 others, rigging your apartment with explosives

Daniel's power isn't less interesting than Max's

I think telekinesis is a really fitting story element for Life is Strange 2 because, unlike Max, who’s a young adult with a somewhat clear sense of self and purpose with her own powers, Daniel is still a child figuring out what he wants to do and what he’s capable of. His power is so simple yet unpredictable in nature, so the uncertainty of his future stands out even more to the player, prompting them to guide Daniel and help him find his place in the world with his newfound abilities. Let me elaborate.

Just like a child can master a range of skills—from learning new languages to playing musical instruments, or excelling in any possible sport—Daniel’s power is ridiculously versatile and it allows him to handle various tasks and challenges in countless ways: he can attack, defend, build, destroy, bend, steer, fly things around, exert control over someone's body, manipulate his environment and even perform intricate tasks like crafting or repairing. It's a power that can adapt to many situations, much like how children can grow into any role or talent they pursue. Children are born to be jacks of all trades.

In the first game, Max’s powers symbolized her struggles with insecurity and the desire to rectify past mistakes. She wanted to correct her every error, ultimately realizing that she can't and she just has to accept them like a responsible adult. In the second game, the power is a representation of a child's untapped potential and reflects the boundless possibilities of a child’s development, showing that with the right guidance, Daniel’s potential is as vast and adaptable as his power, allowing him to become anything he sets his mind to.

I really loved the part in episode 5 where Daniel used his power to build statues with Joan in Away. It's such a bittersweet moment that showcased his creativity and potential before the chaos that was about to unfold. It got me thinking that Daniel might even dream of becoming a constructor in the future. But ultimately, his path is his to forge and he has the freedom to shape his destiny however he chooses.

With the results of this election: let's all turn back to LiS 2 and remember that the hatred and racism displayed in that game were not just exaggerated for drama. Those are genuine experiences that REAL LIFE PEOPLE have been through. If you felt horrible about what Sean dealt with, then imagine every actual non-fiction human being who is coping right now, watching the world turn against them.

i just finished life is strange 2 for the first time and i don’t even know what to say. first of all….. heartbreaking and amazing, everything about this game hit so close to home and holy fuck did it hurt! the ending i got… has destroyed me i just screamed cried and threw up fr but oh my god sean i am so sorry that this happened and everything you had to go thru trying to save your brother and daniel im so sorry you had to grow up and couldn’t stay a child and that you had to do those things

there’s a lack of understanding about the point of life is strange 2

i don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion but it just makes me chuckle a bit when people talk about how much they hate every ending and how there should be an ending where their charges are dropped. like, yes, we all wish sean and daniel could’ve gotten justice like they deserved. but, as a black person playing this game, not once did i ever legitimately expect that to be the outcome.

there isn’t a happily ever after to this story and that’s quite literally the entire point. the game is about how fucked up the system is against people of color, specifically how it affected mexicans in that point in time with trump being in the picture.

i don’t know, i just find it funny how it truly feels like a lot of white people played this game and were like “:000 what????? you mean sean either ends up in prison for 15 years, dead, or is left to defend himself in another country????? but that’s SO unfair!” yeah. exactly. glad you’re caught up on what institutional racism is? like idk what to tell you girl

like, please open a news app or something because this shouldn’t be surprising. and the cherry on top is that this rage is generally exclusive to these two fictional characters lmao, cases happen similar to this one irl (without the powers involved obviously) and the same people won’t blink an eye. go to a protest or call your representatives if you’re so damn mad about the wolf brothers

No, you don't understand. The more ungrateful, the more difficult, the more unmanageable a kid is in any caretaker story, the more I will adore it. It's about being loved not because you're obedient or mature or understanding or digestible, but for you. The work that goes into taking care of you is utterly irrelevant. It's about telling you to stop whining but never revealing I gave you the food off my plate so you won't go hungry, the clothes off my back so you won't go cold, because my love is not dependent on you making yourself convenient. It just is. You cannot be a burden. I would never put you down anyway.
