I named a character Tar because while brainstorming I didn't know if she was going to be a thief, assassin, or rogue type, so I wrote it as Thief/Assassin/Rogue in all my notes and eventually just shortened it to Tar.

One time I modeled a human character after my cat, Thunder, so I named him Thunder. But I wanted his name to sound a bit more human (and like a knight, which the character was) - so I called him Thundarious. And then I accidentally started calling my cat Thundarious IRL sometimes

I’ve got a Water Genasi named A’lisehr (it sounds like Alistair just without the T) because I chose that I wanted a name origin in Arabic but with a water-related name, looked up the Arabic word for hurricane which is ‘iiesar, thought one of the I’s was an L, added an A because I can, and just wound up pronouncing it the way I do.

I’ve also got a character named Amrii (best way I can describe is it to think how you pronounce Henry with a French accent and just rhyme it) because when I went to see The Force Awakens, I thought when Rey introduced herself, she said her name was “Amrey” not “I’m Rey” and I just kept saying it in my head until I got Amrii.

Wanted to make an oc for Magi so I wanted a Middle Eastern of South Asian name for her with a fantasy vibe, though editted to match with her place of origin which reminded me of the Southern Water Tribe. So I thought of Sansa from GoT and thought about how I read that it was a Hindi name, then thought of Avatar characters from the Water Tribe and always found a K in their names. So, I made a character named Sanska
