(married domestic inhun au)

Imagine this :

Inho gets super drunk at a house party and decides to hit on Gihun, his husband of YEARS, because Inho's stupid drunk ass forgot they are married. Gihun is very amused but tells Inho that he's married.

Then Inho has a huge meltdown because WDYM YOU ARE MARRIED?? and also because he missed Gihun telling "married to you"

Junho invites his brother and Gihun to his house for a housewarming party and inho doesn't really want to go at first but Gihun convinces him, saying they'll only stay for a couple of hours before leaving.

Well, turns out Junho bought Inho's favorite whiskey and kept serving it to him and before Gihun knew it, his husband was DRUNK. He was laughing and being loud and sociable and Gihun doesn't remember when the last time was that his husband was so wasted but he's acting so cute so Gihun just watches him fondly.

Inho, meanwhile, is so out of it that when he sees Junho talking to Gihun, he immediately forgets that he and Gihun have been married for years and only remembers that he's had a crush on Gihun for a while now and he thinks it's finally time to make a move.

So, he swaggers over to where Gihun is and smirks (or tries to, his face is doing...something) and just starts flirting with Gihun excessively.

And then he asks Gihun if he's married. And Gihun laughs softly and says yes and shows Inho the ring. He's barely started to say "married to you" when Inho's face immediately falls on he falls on his knees and starts WAILING at the top of his lungs.

Everyone turns and stares at him and Junho and Gihun both sit down and asks Inho what's wrong and Inho throws himself at Gihun and mutters about how he lost his chance and how much he loves Gihun and how he and Gihun can never be together and how was he supposed to live now, knowing that Gihun was out of his reach?

And Gihun stares at him for a moment before laughing and kissing his cheek saying that he's married to INHO and they've been married for a few years now. Immediately, Inho starts smiling and hugging Gihun, calling him his angel, his husband, his treasure, saying how much he loves Gihun and how he doesn't deserve him.

Eventually, Junho helps Gihun get Inho into the guest room where, as soon as Gihun tucks Inho into bed and kisses his cheeks, Inho conks out.

Gihun snuggles up behind Inho and spoons him, giggling and wondering just how bad his husband's hangover is going to be, but also feeling very flattered about what Inho did/said when he thought Gihun was married to someone else.

Next morning, Inho feels like he is dying from alcohol poisoning and embarrassment but it's ok, because Gihun cooks him breakfast and spoon feeds him and tells Inho he loves him so, so much and he's so glad to be his husband!

Jungbae is in the corner recording the whole thing. Finally happy to see his best friends ice cold husband lose his cool exterior. He’s already debating how to use it for blackmail.

Oh my goodness thank you!!! 😭😭😭

I really loved writing it. I tend to get very locked in and write chapters all at once but the short vignettes of this story made it easier for me to put down, come back to, and write over time.

I genuinely love writing this version of Inho. He’s selfish and cruel, self-serving and petty. But he’s so alone. He’s been heavily manipulated into believing and serving a false god. He’s devoted and reflective and romantic.

I think that’s what has always drawn me in when it comes to all of our interpretations. He’s a pond of deep waters and there’s so many things that can be pulled from that.

I’m about- two pages into the final chapter but honestly I’m just putting it off because I don’t want to say goodbye to them just yet.

I have a couple ideas for what I want to write next for inhun but I’ll be honest— I feel like I could actually pull a proper novel out of this story if I tried.

Surpriiiise ( she says as if she was good at keeping anything to herself ). I wrote a prequel to Sky Within Your Eyes. A story of Inho’s time before meeting Gihun and also their time together. I hope you read it. It’s a different kind of story style for me but I think it turned out well regardless. Please let me know what you think!

“Yes he is. And when I win? He will let me go. And he will find me again.”

Ilnam smiles, shaking his head. “You will break his heart all over again. Is that what you wish for? What will you ask of him?”

“I’m not wishing,” Gihun says with a frown. “I’m not asking. I’m telling you. I will walk out of here with Inho and Gayeong. I refuse your terms. I will not kill him, I will not stay here and play this game. I am done.”

You know me, I love a good AU, and the first prompt I got - Gothic Horror - was just right up my street. It also happened that I had been planning this Devil May Cry inspired AU for sometime - you'll have seen the updates for the artwork I've been doing. I'd already been thinking about lore, and had started writing a fic, and the prompt fit it PERFECTLY.
