So I watched Goncharov (1973) after seeing a few posts about joe and, can I say, he did not disappoint! I love unhinged quirky characters like this so I was already expecting to like him, but I wasn’t expecting how deep and interesting his character actually was and how much was shown in such a (relatively) short amount of screen time.
not that i don’t love listening to the original goncharov soundtrack but i wanted to add some more songs that fit the vibe
Goncharov (1973)
I know everyone talks about Ice Pick Joe, but let’s be real, that scene where he finally kills Gil “the Grill” McGilicuddy? Brian Dennehy STOLE IT.
(wakes up in a cold sweat) ga, ga, goncharov, member of the russian mob
there was a man who did so much crime
ga ga goncharov, italy’s most famous slav
he really thought he had enough time

Ok, before I go through the trouble of actually making these things available for folks to buy, would you for real purchase the Gonch shirt that I made for a laugh? Wouldja?
Designing and printing it was super fun. Saw some people tagging that they’d buy one. It might be a way for the shop to survive the lean months coming up.
Anyway, keep Gonching, Goncherinos.
“Goncharov, there’s no point in pretending we’re better than what we are- animals.”
I don’t care what people say, I still think Animal Crossing should have kept in the Goncharov references.
holy shit this was in my dad’s basement
Level 1: Non-murdery Goncharov AUs where Joseph Morelli is just Joe, because obviously he wouldn’t be called that, right?
Level 2: Non-murdery Goncharov AUs where Joseph Morelli has a different, more milieu-appropriate nickname.
Level 3: Non-murdery Gonchraov AUs that go out of their way to explain why Joseph Morelli still has his canon nickname.
Level 4: Non-murdery Goncharov AUs that don’t go out of their way to explain why Joseph Morelli still has his canon nickname.
“I repent but it’s not enough; it’s never enough”
Goncharov looked at Ice Pick Joe. “No,” he gonched.
It’s all about the parallels in Goncharov (1973)
the best mafia movie to ever
Okay this is actually Katya’s theme. I think the last one I uploaded was from the demo album. I think the version used in the film better captures the internal struggle Katya undergoes before finally resolving to kill her husband.
So many good Goncharov scenes like why don’t more ppl use mini bar Molotov cocktails to light up
