I’m just going to comment that the media makes female sexuality seem impossible and wrong. Therefore, those who consume media, especially younger girls are being trained by the media to not see it. But also, they’re trained that their own sexuality isn’t there. It’s easier to relate to male sexuality (and express it as a gay ship) because that’s all the media gives, and it’s the only sexuality the media says is acceptable. Through m/m ships, girls are exploring their own sexuality, not always that of the actual characters. Once girls start to be able to see themselves as sexual creatures, and be more confident in their sexuality, their shipping preferences expand. When the media makes female sexuality more acceptable, you’ll see it more.

Except you know. she was part of the women’s auxiliary territorial service as a driver and mechanic from 1943 on. When it came to being a woman in Britain during WWII, you were likely close to being a soldier. American soldiers were specifically told to treat women in Britain with respect because they were more experienced in warfare then they were.

omg my parents have two dogs and they’re the biggest dorks ever. i come home and they cry all excited (one is a hound, a petit basset griffon vendeen. most adorable dogs ever!) they like jump on me until I have to sit and let them cry and whine about how happy they are to see me. And then they bark and whine at my mom who just replies “I know! She’s home! What a surprise!” Colbert (named after Stephen Colbert) is the hound and our other rescue toy mix weird dog is Junior. They like playing with toys and chasing each other, but Junior is too fast for Colbert (he’s overweight.) so Colbert just grabs Junior’s butt to drag him back so he can’t get away. They have neighborhood dogs they trust (and will bark in response to about shifty people walking by) but you know that some dogs they’re like ‘no you’re a drama queen’ and they don’t bark with them. When they eat they like to individually eat their big kibbles (Colbert even walks away to lie down and eat them individually) before eating their normal food, but because Colbert walks away, one of our cats or Junior will eat all of his food while he is chilling enjoying his big kibble. Colbert is the gentlest dog ever and will politely take food from your had very gently even if he is super excited. And sometimes he has to psych himself up to jump on the couch.
