Having an interviewer tell me a role is going to be chaotic means nothing to me. It's like the baseline expectation for anyone who isn't csuite or above in this industry. Probably gonna take it anyways if it's offered.

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
My favourite thing done by certain "transfeminist" bloggers on Tumblr is that when they decide that a trans woman has betrayed the creed they will write posts about this trans woman being a transmisogynist in such a way that very carefully creates the impression that the person being discussed is a cisgender woman who hates trans women and wants to see them harmed. And not a trans woman who has done something usually on the level of "not liking anime". They go to great and clearly intentional lengths to never mention that the woman in question is transgender and imply she is from outside the community attacking it. Usually the posts are crafted to suggest that anyone who associates with her must also be transmisogynist - despite being made by people who believe that callout posts for trans women are a form of social murder.
when i was a kid my Getting To Sleep technique was visualizing a child-sized shriveled up mummy with big piercing eyes that would stand silhouetted in the doorway & stare at me & probably attack if i so much as opened my eyes after getting into bed & this technique caused me to develop a lifelong nighttime-induced paranoia & it still takes me 2 hours to fall asleep. so i wouldnt recommend that

when I see people who say that becoming a marxist made them miserable I just cannot relate at all.
(also for what it's worth i don't know if that's something any significant number of people say, since the only place I see people say that is in screenshots that right-wingers post to gloat about, and i've never had any of the marxists i know actually say this to me, so this whole phenomenon could easily just be right-wingers screenshotting their own sock-puppet accounts, but I digress)
I already knew that the way the world works right now is fucked way before I became a marxist. it was obvious to me since i was young that the people working that hardest are often the most impoverished, that the wealthiest people usually do little to no work, that unemployment, poverty, and homelessness were solvable problems that people were deliberately choosing to not solve.
all marxism did was help me understand why things are this way, and how they can-and will- be fixed. before marxism the enormity of the horror surrounding us was too immense to be comprehended, and certainly too immense to be solved. marxism gave me a detached, analytical, scientific way to understand these phenomena, and thus to solve them. it made the incomprehensible comprehensible, the unsolvable solvable. it gave me a sense of clarity, purpose, and hope that I never had before.
