An Introduction to me, my world, and my blog

Hello! I'm RJ! I'm a 21 y/o aspiring writer who aims to create their own limited comic series one day. I'm here to gain traction on the project and find some help, so I am sharing a bit about it!

First off, what is the story about?

The Flotashai Project is an Action/Xeno-perspective limited comic series about Emiran Sotoga, a trans (MtF) Törrik scientist who, after a terraforming job gone wrong, is caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a terrifying beast from another planet.

But this is no ordinary forest creature, no, it's smart, vigilant, and dead set on vengeance, and it's not going to stop hunting Emiran until it's got whatever it wants — and she's trapped with it.

Now stuck on a hostile alien moon with no maps, nothing but a half-charged plasma gun, and an offline version of her ship's AI, Emiran must go from scientist to soldier to survive and save what's left of her crew in time to make it home

Haha, yeah. Jokes aside, though, this is Katii! He was designed by the amazing Waschmittelpulver/Norseen on Discord (she designed my pfp, if you remember). He's my fav. Dunno why, I just find myself connecting with him more than the others. I consider him a "tether character," especially for Emiran, as he has a major role in her growth (won't tell you how, though, hehe!)

And the results are IN, and I was honestly hoping for that answer haha! Like, yea, it was probably a question that didn't need to be asked in the first place, but my brain just be like that sometimes.

Anyways, with that aside, here's Yuzawai! She's our big-bad antagonist, designed by the lovely @anaverna on Instagram!

Just thought I would make a post in order to update y'all on my current thoughts/position for the Pilot. As well as an

Now where am I on the script? Currently, I'm redoing the outline for the story, as soon as I've finished that I can start scripting. I've been reading Screenwriting for Dummies by Laura Schellhardt in order to get the basics down. After that, on my reading list are Save the Cat by Blake Snyder, Writing a Successful TV Series by Emmanuel Oberg, as well as his other books on the subject. I've also downloaded Arc Studio on my computer, it's super fun to use, and I'm actually learned a lot from it!

Now, I've posted three out of the eight designs. However, these characters' designs are subject the change, and I'll admit that, while the references are amazing, they are very detailed and thus animating them as is, would be very difficult. That said by no means, will they be entirely retconned; after all I'm very attached to them. They'll just be simplified, and a consistent art style will be established so the animators can sleep at night lol

However I had a thought recently, and it made me wonder. Could posting the current refs before their canon designs are created might possibly cause confusion and continuity issues. On another note, it could be fun to see where the final designs come from; I don't know, I'm probably overthinking it, but I thought I'd ask you guys anyway.

He and Kyree are FwB, though he holds a little more than lustful feelings towards her, to which she is oblivious to. He is an outgoing and kind character who openly shows his vulnerable side to those he trusts.

Another member of Emiran's main crew, Kyree! She's the ship's astrobiologist and doctor.

She and Emiran used to be friends in the academy several years prior, having bonded over the fact that they were the two of the only Törrik on campus, but unfortunately, having lost touch after graduation.
