Every single week I cycle through a different coffee shop in my town and ask the barista to make me their favorite drink in a medium. I have an entire spiel:
“All milk is fine, caffeinated and not caffinated i’m game, hot and iced both work, it can be coffee or tea or anything.”
It has yet to fail me. Every time I have tried a new drink I never would have thought to try and every one I’ve had has been amazing. The true delight I’ve seen in baristas faces pondering on what to make me and the joy they have when I like the drink always makes my day and I hope it makes theirs too. It’s the little things of kindness that can make someone’s day and I feel that it helps the world be kinder. Highly recommend doing this yourselves.
Just went to a place I go to more often near work and I got a “oh! It’s you!! :D” from one of the baristas when I gave my order. Made my day :)
Update: me and the most common coffee shop I go to’s baristas and I are now friends :)

Additional update: I wrote a good review/feedback for the coffee shop and corporate really liked my review, so now everyone in the coffee shop knows my name, knows I gave the review because my order is unique, and I was given a free breakfast sandwich in appreciation.

Seeing people reblog this post with tags along the lines of “humanity is good” makes me so happy man. My singular goal in life is if I manage to have a conversation with a person and they walk away at least a bit happier than before, I’ve succeeded in my life’s mission. My impact on the world might not be huge but to those around me and the few that I interact with, spreading that little bit of joy can mean do much to others and watching that joy impact others is truly amazing.

it’s so weird how much of a raccoon’s… raccoonness? is tied up in its pattern. This looks like a completely different animal, some sort of weird marsupial.

Thank you so much! The comment from @ayellowbirds is genuinely part of the reason I adore and collect colour morphs. Without pattern and colour, you’re faced with the surprise of the animal, like experiencing it for the first time.
(Our brains are so good at categorising experiences, that normally, as soon as we experience something, it’s absorbed, and no longer surprising; how delightful to find that we can be surprised by animals again!)
But it also helps you to pick out what’s REALLY inherent to the animal, what pieces of gesture and motion (obscured by colour, pattern or our own familiarity) are actually integral to the understanding of the true Beast….
The albino reminds us to draw raccoons far-footed, and as if they are wearing puffy fur coats that taper comically down each limb.

It has come to our attention that your monthly gravitational usage has exceeded the suggested limit. Our analysis notes a 23% increase from last month's usage, placing you 14% over the suggested limit.
We at the DGC take the environmental concerns surrounding gravitational usage very seriously, but it is common for consumers to exceed their limit occasionally. As this is a first warning, there are no penalties involved as outlined in our departmental guidelines. We simply ask that you try to be more mindful of your usage in the future, as increased demand puts a strain on planetary resources. We've included some helpful tips below.
Activities that may be increasing your usage:
Repeated incidents of struggling to get out of bed (classified as gravitational resistance)
Repeated incidents of objects falling from your hands (classified as gravitational hoarding)
Statements such as "I'll just sit down for a moment" or "Just a quick nap" that devolve into much longer periods than originally stated (classified as gravitational dependence)

I know it’s not your fault but the bureaucracy I’m dealing with lately is astounding. I have a waiver due to my chronic fatigue that allows me leeway on both GR and GD. You need to check with other departments before sending these things, it’s just careless.

generally speaking when it comes to mental and physical health, if you're asked "do you struggle with this" and your answer is "no, Because I Have A System," then your answer is actually yes
Also, for ADHD symptoms specifically, if they ask something like, "Do you have trouble waiting your turn in conversations?" and your answer is, "No I'm a grown up I don't interrupt people," but you are constantly finishing sentences for people in your head and have formulated three replies before they finish talking.... the answer is yes, yes you do.
And if you can stay in your seat but are constantly bouncing a leg, clicking a pen, tapping out a rhythm on your thigh, or otherwise fidgeting, the answer is, yes, you do have trouble staying in your seat.
Neurotypicals do not require iron clad self control and three coping techniques to sit still during a meeting.
What if your answer is "No, I don't have trouble waiting my turn because I can't tell when it's my turn so I never take my turn."?
