“Rappers only talk about their money, cars, and clothes!”
Why might someone from a group of people that historically have been denied access to wealth, now brag that they have it?
“Rappers only talk about sex!”
Why might someone from a group that have historically been denied sexual autonomy now brag about their sexual escapades on their own terms?
“Rappers only talk about drugs and crime!”
Why might someone from a group that historically have been denied the more legal means to acquire wealth and had drugs forced on their community talk about their experiences with it?
sometimes i think about how my all-girls catholic school’s idea of a PE class was to pair two girls up, teach us how to dance tango (one of the most sensual dances) for a whole sem, and have us perform it as an exam with one girl wearing a dress and the other girl wearing a coat and tie and how theyre still completely baffled on why almost half of their students are gay
Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.
I do think the ability to emoji-react is a net win for human communication. not only does it give you an outlet for 'I see and acknowledge this but don't have a verbal response' but it also adds a pleasing alethiometer element to things
my coworker announces that he's off to the dentist. someone reacts with a tooth emoji. is this a statement of dentist solidarity? a wish for my coworker to return with more (or fewer?) teeth than he set out with? simple word association? who can say
also I don't think parents "these days" are uniquely terrible, I just think neglect is showing up in new ways as technology progresses. today's ipad kid would've been wandering around in a ditch alone all day and night before. parents not wanting to have to deal with children is not a new phenomenon.
Someone PLEASE write for adult zuko
he looks too good in the movie
A fairly quick study from yesterday. Sadly I am not sure anymore, where exactly I got the reference from. It was very likely from https://www.fatphotoref.com I just really adore the regality and elegance of her pose.
Not book smart or street smart but a secret third thing.
