this is lowkey so random but it makes me irked when people are like 'and then she showers, seconds later coming out with a towel in his hands as he pats down his hair' about speedster because... you do realize that it takes time for water to fall, right?

its the same when people superspeed normal civilans bevause that, if for an extended period of time, would damage the civilians since the g-forces would tear them apart. kon obviously uses his ttk to shield civilians from it (or something like that-- I'm so scientist so don't quote me on this (you can correct me if I’m wrong though!)) but when it's barry or bart or wally, they dont have ttk to shield them with!

its mostly that water think though bc, just as it takes tim for a penny to fall from your hand to the floor, it takes time for water to fall from the shower head to the floor. They wouldn't be able to shower at superspeeds because they wouldn't actually be abke to get clean. They eould be abke to shower faster than average, yes, because they can lather soap on and scrub at their scalps faster, but water still needs to fall.

this can be demonstrated (in theory) by turning on a sink or shower head and running your hand/arm through it really fast-- there should (again, in theory) be a gap between the streams of water

while this is true (someone has enlightened me on how to speed force aura works, which was new information and I do appreciate that) this begs the question; how far does the aura go? like, does it effect anything that's connected to the speedster? and, if so, how far does that go?

someone brought up the topic of a video game-- obviously, the controller would be in the aura ring of sorts, but what about the tv? and, if he was playing with someone else, would their screen be effected as well?

ALSO I dislike when the name Signal is collapsed into being just about him patrolling in the daytime or his powers because ultimately Signal is about his philosophy. It's about wanting to be a hero like his mom, to be a knight and a force against darkness, to be the first on the battlefield signifying both a belief in personal responsibility and a desire to be a symbol for his community. TO BE SIGNAL IS TO BE A SIGN OF THE FUTURE, A HERALD OF THE ONCOMING DAWN!!!!

I still want the first time Tim calls Bruce ‘Daddy’ to his face to be in a moment of joy, but I think I might make it happen sooner in the timeline than I had originally planned because I’m just sooo excited for Bruce to officially be Tim’s Daddy. It’ll start more as a title, since Tim sees all men as daddies, but Bruce will quickly reclaim the title and turn it from something scary into a name that means protection, love, and safety.

Tim won’t call Bruce his Daddy all the time yet, but I want it to slip out sometimes, especially when his emotions are heightened and he’s looking for reassurance, comfort, or just because he’s happy and looks to his Daddy to share in the joy.

Bruce is going to show Tim what a real Daddy should be like, someone who loves him unconditionally, who will protect him, who will take care of him, and who will enjoy spending time with him.

I’m thinking Tim will call Bruce his Daddy for the first time even before he’s adopted. Tim still doesn’t understand what adoption is yet and so the paperwork doesn’t matter to him so much. He knows that he lives with the Waynes now, that’s what matters to him. He already thinks that he ‘belongs’ to Bruce now, and so the paperwork being finalized won’t be as monumental to him because he just doesn’t quite get it yet. Tim will call him Daddy when he’s ready.

When he first says it he will be embarrassed and nervous, but then seeing the way Bruce lights up will reassure him. It’ll take awhile for Tim not to look at Bruce with trepidation when he calls him Daddy, but eventually it’ll be natural.

Eventually, Tim will feel comfortable enough to call out, “Daddy! Daddy, look! I drew you!” And Bruce will be purring so loudly that it sounds a bit like thunder. He’ll tell Tim how much he loves the drawing, how honored he is and how proud. He’ll ask Tim if he wants the drawing up on the fridge, displayed in Bruce’s office, or in the pup’s art gallery in the play room.

Tim is gonna love his new Daddy so much it’ll help ease the grief of his Mommy ‘abandoning’ him.

when I'm writing, names are everything and I need people to know this.

whenever I write a name, I choose it based off of what I want to convey, and I feel like it's most obvious with how, when I write any scene involving the bats, if theyre in their costumes, theyre going by their vigilante names, but if theyre in civvies/acting as their civvie persona, thats the name they go by (see: my stephcassette fic where, when their identities are revealed, they start going by their civvie names bc they arent acting as heroes). this also goes for, when people dont know someones name, it will never be used, the person will be referenced to as 'the man' 'the woman' 'the person' 'the hero' etc etc

I'm writing a joker junior fic rn (it'll be posted tomorrow for disability bingo) and when I say 'junior', it is completely intentional. he knows that his name is tim, but when he says something or does something and the tone tag says 'junior', that means that its jj completing the action if that makes sense?

I also feel like you can see this in my skz multichap when I reference chan as 'my channie' from minho's pov bc thats who chan is to minho

ANYWHO idk if this is something that other authors do but almost everything in my writing is completely intentional and I uh wanted to share that bc this jj fic is really showing that haha

I love how, if you look deeper than surface level, every batkid has an artistic mode of expression, unique to thenselves. let me explain.

dick, despite at first glance it seeming like he doesn't, his gymnastics is a form of art-- fine art, in fact. this being his form of art is really fitting in my opinion, since it shows his bright and bubbly personality, as well as his willingness to accept change as well as his stubborness (that middle one is debateable but I personally see him as the most accepting-of-change batclan member, since I feel like a lot, of not all, of the others are more set in their ways, whereas dick is able to uproot his life and start completely over (as seen in him moving to bludhaven and becoming a cop) and, while he might not exactly enjoy it, he doesn't go out of his way to prevent change) 

barbara is coding. some kight say it isn't art, but I think it is. she might not have originally chosen coding, but the time it takes to create even just s simole code is painstakingly long, and even one mistake can destroy the whole code. her being a coder show her attention to detail (much like damian) and it also shows her love for her craft (like cass, although I think all of them have this to some degree). it also shows her love for those around her and her care for thise she holds close. it also shows that shes awesome in my completely unbiased opinion :)

jason doesn't have a really canon artistic expression, I personally think he would be an amazing writer, although it's more common for him to be portrayed as a theatre kid (which I don't think is canon? correct me if I'm wrong, since I haven't read many jason-centric comics). this shows, obviously, his dramatic personality, as well as his imagination and creativity when it comes to acting a certain way, which helps with his red good persona since it allows him to be, at least a little, different from his jason todd persona. 

cass is a dancer, which I think is canon? again, correct me if I'm wrong, given that I fear I have yet to read any cass comics (I'm gonna get there eventually guys trust). this is so unbelievably perfect for her, since it allows her to communicate without words as well as her ability to compose (or in this case, choreograph) and her love for her form of expression

tim is a photographer. he spends so much time composing for perfect photograph, and this portrays his want to be able to preserve all the good moments and memories, which is so very him, as well as his ability to accept and move on from the bad moments and memories-- he may still hold a grudge l, which is natural, but he can also forgive and move past things

damian is a painter, a traditional artist, which helps him show things that he can't get across with words. it shows his attention to detail, as well as his perfectionism, but it also shows how he's abke to be swayed, and, though it takes time, his sbility to change his views which I love

I unfortunately do not know enough about duke to characterize him through his artistic expression-- or find out what his artistic expression is (although I do think it would have to do with lighting) so if someone else wants to add on to this with his, feel free too

(and no I didn't forget stephanie's, I just need to think a bit more about her)
