-fidget- OKAY SO TFA IS FUCKED UP. This is a universe where you are defined by not just your badge but your build. You see it with Sentinel literally telling Blackarachnia she should have died instead of survived cause of what she is now. Optimus is called a washout and you do not see a huge variety of frame sizes/types on Cybertron. Decepticons are always associated with size which plays into what I call warbuild/warframe vs Civilian/civil servant class frames. Both frames can do the same types of jobs but when the Quints were making them they set them to a predisposition based on the size and utility of the mode. -gestures- Which is where heavy builds are typically more aggressive simply because they were often used as guards, heavy haulers, and front line shock troopers. Smaller lighter builds do better in administrative and fine detail work simply because it's easier for them to do so. The council, long after the Quints were gone, only reinforced this with their class war eventually leading to the Great War on Cybertron. IN TFA the Autobots won without a doubt thanks to the efforts of once Ultra Prime, not Ultra Magnus. Which is where we also get prime as a 'rank' rather then as a holy rite. Perhaps because long ways back in the war before UM managed to pull it around there were true primes fighting the fight before they died out and disappeared leaving 'prime' as a rank of power as a means of keeping up morals in the ranks. Now we get to Optimus' time line. Warbuilds are purely decepticons, and what's a docile population but a homogenous one? And one that's willing to turn on its neighbors for fear of not being 'one' with the crowd. -cracks knuckles- Optimus was onlined with plans of being a civilian class heavy haul truck -the largest size that is acceptable on Cybertron- but when his spark was implanted, he received what IDW might call a 1% spark. Aka a spark with a pre-differentiated line of coding. Warframe. Which would effect his frame growth and modifications. His care takers literally framed him from the beginning of his life with fear of standing out. Surgical procedure to make his frame an acceptable size, forced armor refits and of course the denta and optical medication. On top of all that? Behavioral specialists to make sure that any rogue autobot renegade can be corralled back into civil obedience. Optimus when he entered the academy was especially subject to this because of his 'history' and for a time his questioning of the status quo. ( we see him several times change or drop rules as he's confronted by his own team and Sari as to their inanity and cruelty, as well as his easier acceptance of things that are otherwise taboo on cybertron) In the Murder Verse Optimus instead of becoming more docile, becomes more violent but with everything he has been forced to he simply knows how to hide it. He appears a model citizen, a model academy cadet...underneath it he's starving because of a rationed diet to help keep his frame size acceptable, and seething with rage and madness because of the glitched modified behavioral coding. ..... and that's just for that verse ahah...haaaaaa
