There isn't a single genre where I'm more critical than cyberpunk. If anything is off, the whole thing is spoiled. There's a fly in my soup, send it back. And the question of who's making it can be a gigantic fucking fly. Cyberpunk exists to critique capitalism, and interrogate how new technologies impact our lives. We live in cyberpunk. So obviously a corporate product can't be cyberpunk. Are you fucking stupid? Corporations are the *enemy,* why would you trust what they have to say? Think about who is sending the message and why, you idiot. It gets me really riled up.

I can't think of anything more comically hamfisted than "triple A cyberpunk game developed by a huge corporation using worker abuse." If it was satire I would say it's way over the top. but it's not satire and people still regularly recommend it or ask me whether I like it.
