Edalyn arrives at the abandoned church, Remy in tow, just as dusk begins to tint the air with cool-toned shade.
"Yeesh, this place has definitely seen much better days... Looks like it got punched straight through by something." She looks around, surveying the surroundings for the others.
"Doesn't look like anyone's gone inside recently, so I'd reckon we got here first. Weird how often that's been happening for me recently..."
"Hey!" Celestina's voice is bright and clear. "Before we go on the job, guess what Oliver brought?" She was positively giddy. "Pie! Pie! Strawberry pie! Yayyyy." Looking at the pie, two out of eight slices are taken. "We shared some already. Two each total."
"Oh! Yeah yeah i brought pie for everyone!!"
He perked up as Celestina spoke to the others.
"I brought little plastic plates and tools you can use to eat if you want! Just hurry up cuz it's getting colder!"
He removes the objects from a hidden pocket in his sweater, displaying them near the pie slices.
"Ooooh, pie!" Remy takes a plate and fork before pausing. "Oh, by the way, what exactly is the job? Heh, obviously I can handle whatever's coming, but being informed never hurt anyone."
"Wh- oh, dang it, I never said, did I?"
Eda smacks her head, looking slightly sheepish. As she reaches for a plate though, excitement takes over both in face and voice.
"Well, Tenner says there're dinosaurs down under this church! We have to go down there and find an egg, somebody wants a real exotic omlette."
She starts bouncing slightly as she eats her slices of pie.
"Mm, oh wow, this is amazing pie, I haven't had anything this good in ages..."
"Really exotic. When you get your hands on the egg, no shaking it around! And if you break it, I will leave you to a pterosaur who will take you to its nest and munch away at your organs. It will be unpleasant. You won't like it. Don't break the fucking egg." Celestina takes another slice of pie, on the smaller side this time.
"Uh, y-yeah, sure, won't break it!" - He pauses - "Wait, if ostrich eggs are super resistant and hard to crack, wouldn't dinosaur eggs be even more resistant? Not saying that we shouldn't be careful, it's just that them breaking is probably the least of our worries, 'cuz, you know," - He lightly slams his fist on the table, exaggerating his expression - "THERE ARE FUCKING DINOSAURS UBDER THE CHURCH!!" - He didn't quite yell, but aggressively raised his tone in a more playful way, giggling mid speech. He does sound quite concerned however.
"..Anyway." - He grabs a strawberry that fell from inside the pie. "We're not gonna have to kill the dinosaur slash dinosaurs (emphasis on the s), right?"
Remy looks around at everyone, baffled. "Did. Did dinosaurs not go extinct? What? I mean I guess in another dimension, they could be not extinct. But. They're definitely extinct here. Dinosaurs. Under this church? What?"
Eda excitedly stamps her feet, squee-ing
"Journey to the Center of the Falls! Ohh, I'm gonna take so many notes down there..."
She roots around in her jacket, eventually pulling out a scrappy, hand-bound journal and a ballpoint pen. She flips through a few pages and tests the pen for a second before pocketing them again closer to the front.
"Well, I don't know 'bout y'all, but I'm ready ta head down whenever!"
"I'm done with my pie!" Celestina announced. "So we can go whenever★!" She turns to Oliver. "To answer you, assuming we don't royally fuck it up, we shouldn't need to kill one. Of course, we're going to royally fuck it up. Just watch."
He squints his eyes at Celestina in a confused response, pauses for a moment, and shrugs, softening his expression.
"Well. Guess i don't have anything to lose. Let's go royally fuck it up then." - He closes the pot containing the pie and stores it, along the plastic plates and forks. - "Just waiting for you on directions."
"Are we. Are we really going to ignore the fact that dinosaurs aren't extinct? Apparently? Hello? Dinosaurs. Under this church. Dinosaurs, plural. Multiple. Several dinosaurs. Under this church."
"I know, isn't it amazing?! I'm gonna love it down there I just know it!"
Eda pops up from where she'd been sitting, and rushes over to peer down through the hole in the floor.
"Just what are we gonna find down there..."
"Dinosaurs, I'd hope." With a sharp kick, Celestina broke some of the nearby floorboards, the wood falling into the abyss. Half a minute passes. Then a thunk and a screech of alarm (or quite possibly pain) by something as it hit the ground. "There we go! Now we can get down easier."
"Uhhhh." He stared awkwardly "I don't like that noise. But we're already here, so no backing down... i guess."
He pulled out the rope from his bag and handed it over to Celestina "We might need this to get down." He gestured to the hole.
Remy stands there, staring at everyone with a frankly baffled gaze.
Eda hardly notices the stare, bouncing on her feet. Eventually she gets too impatient to let Celestina finish securing the rope and starts clambering down the rock face.
"C'mon you slowpokes!"

There's a knock at Remy's door, and a muffled voice soon follows. "Hey, Johnny! I saw you've got a wasp problem. I can get rid of the little varmint for ya!"
You hear the sound of a door creaking and rushed footsteps before the door opens, a slightly disheveled Remy standing before you.
"REALLY?!" Remy gestures you to come in. "Someone of my caliber is obviously not afraid of anything, I've dealt with manticores and hydras from the darkest depths, but this wasp.... it was CLEARLY sent from the ghost of a creature I slayed months ago as revenge. That is why I'm trusting you with this great task." He clearly is scared of that wasp.
He takes a moment to catch his breath, before continuing. "I trapped the evil thing in my room."
"Oh, sure, absolutely. I'll go take care of it in just a sec, but first..." Eda pauses as she rummages around in her coat, putting on a leather glove and pulling out a smoker and... a wrapped slice of deli meat?
"The main reason I swung by, there's a job offer and you're invited. Seems right up your alley, too, if you're used ta the likes o' 'manticores and hydras'." She grins drily.
She visibly perks up. "A job, you say? Well, heh. If you need my help that badly, I guess I can't refuse."
"Great! I'll just go take care o' your varmint problem, and then we're meeting Tenner at the ol' church once you're ready ta go."
Eda walks over to the bedroom, and primes the smoker before spraying through the crack under the door. She waits a minute, then heads inside, unwrapping the slice of meat and holding it in her gloved hand.
Remy blinks. Is she... picking it up with the deli meat? Is she picking up the dead wasp with the deli meat. The Dead Wasp with deli meat. Remy continues to watch Eda in silent horror and confusion.
Much to Remy's surprise (and likely horror), the wasp is not in fact dead. Rather, it seems to be lazily making short hops back and forth on a windowsill. Eda slowly, calmly approaches it, and holds out the slice of meat just next to the sill. Eda whistles quietly as she watches the wasp crawl onto her gloved hand and start munching contentedly at the meat.
"Good thing I smoked it first, this looks like a nasty lil' bugger. Well, lemme just take 'er outside, and you'll be fine."
She cups her other hand loosely around the wasp as if she was protecting a lighter from the wind, and slowly walks towards the front door. "So, whaddaya need before we set out? It'll be dark, and there'll be all sorts a' critters that might potentially get ornery around us."
Remy takes a couple steps back, keeping an eye on the wasp in her hand. "Well, I would need my switchblade, obviously. And my army knife. My trusty compass too. And some snacks....." He rambles on, naming a bunch of bizarre items.
"...and they're all here, in my trusty backpack!" She holds up her mini backpack, which has presumably been in his hand the whole time. The backpack, in no way, can fit all the items he mentioned. You can clearly tell he was talking just to talk.
"All that? In that little bag? That's ridiculous." Eda rolls her eyes, and goes to set the meat and the wasp down a short ways away from the building. She returns a moment later, picking up her cane where she had leaned it by the door and twirling it like a baton.
"Well, if you've really got everything you need, then c'mon Johnny. I dunno how soon Tenner's gonna get there or how long she'll wait for us."

While working away at the portal, Celestina just manages to catch the sound of a pebble falling nearby between metallic clangs. As she whips around, studying the landscape, she looks up just in time to see a manically grinning face almost directly above her. "Hiya, Tenner!"
"Fu—" Celestina raises the piece of metal she had in her hand, about to slam it against her assailient, before sighing upon realizing it was just Eda. "Fuck. You should... maybe consider not doing that shit to people. God damn."
"But it's funnnnnnnn."
Eda pouts, and drops out of the tree.
"Besides, I haven't gotten to feel properly intimidating in days, with everything that's going on..."
She stares off into the middle distance, then shakes her head.
"Aaaaanyway, I'm here to discuss business. I just got a friend accidentally possessed by an extremely powerful demon that until moments prior I didn't even believe exists, so I'm all in on whatever otherworldly jobs you pick up. Both ta distract myself from. that and to maybe find ways to fix it."
Celestins rolls her eyes. "You weren't intimidating. You were mildly surprising for a bit. I was going to slam your brains against the nearest tree with some scrap metal. Anyway. Who got possessed? Which demon?"
"Oh sure, yeah. Felt good anyway." "It's Googly. Uh, the one who works Greasy's. I'm not sure it'd be a great idea to say who's possessing them, especially out loud, but let's just say he's turned into a big bad Boogly-man. Get it?" Eda huffs a hollow laugh. "So. When can I get some work, do ya think? Especially any that might involve magic?"
"Oh. Ohh. Do me a favor, if you see her, or plan to meet up with them, let me tag along. He owes me. Ten whole dollars. Speaking of ten dollars. Back to your thing. I haaave a job. The portal isn't running, but it should be fine. The job is local, and simple! We just need to leave an omelette out in the woods for the client to take. So mushrooms, cheese, onions, bell pepper, chives, other vegetables, aaaand our egg. A dinosaur egg. To be exact."
"A... dinosaur egg? So not only are demons a thing, magic is real... we've got Jurassic Park too? And local?"
Eda tries to keep an air of nonchalant disbelief, but its clear she's excited by the prospect. Until the gears start to turn, and her expression turns dour.
"How 'local'? If you mean 'in our plane of existence', I don't think I'm willin' to fly out to Isla Nubar."
"I mean local. In the Falls local. We can get there on foot local. It takes half an hour to walk there local. Also, the fuck is Isla Nubar? Whatever your're thinking of, from the sound of the name, it's not that. It's. Well. You'll see. Not Jurassic Park, though! Not artificial."
Eda gasps.
"So then, we're going Jules Vernes? Journey to the center of the Falls... Count me the Frick in!"
She hops from foot to foot, obviously very eager.
"We're not going to the center of the falls, we're going to an old abandoned church. That way." Celestina points down south. "And then we go that way." She points to the ground.
"I- y- ughh." Eda rolls her eyes. "That's two literary references in a row you didn't get. And don't say anything about the movie I know Jurassic Park is a movie but it was a book first and yes I've read and seen both."
