so, ‘the things that never happened’ is kind of my take on what a more unhinged fed-up version of alex would be like during the loops. such as literally sitting and waiting there until jonas finds the right word in the forest (in the “sometimes i get whiffs of… i dunno” section) because i think that’s funny, but it doesn’t write very well? so i’ve never posted it but i have tried to rework it a little bit!

Alex takes the radio out of her pocket, hands over the smooth plastic. Ren watches in horror as she flings it off the ferry and leaves it to drown.

‘cool guy from cool north valley’ is incredibly embarrassing. this is from my old middle school, freshman year days where X reader yn fics were all i would read. so i decided i would write my own jonas x reader fic, which is, of course, a little weird for the almost fully adult fanbase of oxenfree. and obviously i got tired of writing that QUICK so… it will remain a WIP forever most likely. and alex is my favorite character EVER, so pushing her out of the way of jonas was really hard, and also made no sense because it’s their bonding night!! if i ever wanted to reattempt this (never, for many reasons) i’d have to make it a completely fic basically haha

Ren searches his brain and comes up with nothing. Having the attention span of a squirrel will do that. (dang, middle school me! ren is a good kid! and also, just kind of mischaracterizing him… haha i don’t know about this one chief)

‘laundry day’ is about my main oc, jonas (named of course after the oxenfree jonas, and with blue hair from alex… it’s not hard to see where my inspo comes from!) this was my first fic of this character, so getting used to his voice and accurately describing his house, mostly made up on the fly, was a bit of a challenge but i’d say it was worth it. still a wip though, because it’s kind of a group project with my friends? and any specific information could completely not be canon, and i care a lot more about where magical fairies would get glass from than my friends do.

The fog of the forest leaves dew on the clover patches outside, by the piles of firewood, even in the early evening.
