"God will get you for that."
Just what we need, another comic book movie.
This popped up in my FB Memories today. The pencil sketch was based on a pre-Elon Twitter Mermay piece from two months before. My submission for the monthlong mermaid art theme was a Wild West Sheriff. That idea ran out of steam for a potential comic, but what did develop, as I made this pencil sketch, became a Lady of the Lake in the Old West, and that became a cosmic expansion on the King Arthur legend. That story anchored my Outskirts anthology, and that led to the Nameless graphic novel sequel after a lot of research on Shackleton and South Pacific mythology. All from a goofy sketch for a social media trend.
I was back at the car dealership today, exactly nine years later, but I didn't get to sketch. I will later today though. Who knows what might come from that.

i'm not normally one to make jokes about dialect or accent. but the way that British people pronounce "lieutenant" feels like an in-joke i'm not privy to
Aww, you're feeling lieut out?
I accidentally and legitimately pissed off Paul Bettany at his DragonCon celebrity booth when I pronounced it like an American in the middle of telling him how Master and Commander got my family through Covid.
"We named our house after The Surprise and considered ourselves as its crew with our son as a loo-tenant, and --"
"[Stops signing autograph, deep sigh] Lef-tenant."
"Oh. Yes, sorry. That's --"
"[Hands autograph us] Lef-tenant."
"[Quickly takes autograph, signals to family we should go] Yesthankyouthanksforbeingherebigfans."
We still love the movie, but woof.

Rewatching the Hannibal series again, and now I'm at the most intentionally infuriating part of Season 2. [Spoilers below]

These books are from different publishers within a year of each other. Don't remember seeing something like this before.
This just played on the RiffTrax Twitch, and I sincerely love it. Perfect length, perfect tone, good actors being goofy.
